Like others have said, when a word or phrase is said, it triggers a tune in my head, and that tune MUST be played in order to remove the earworm. I was workin away tonight and for some strange reason the MELODY of the song "Paisley Park" got stuck on repeat in my brain tonight.

My earworm was a song that is not one of my favorites and I have not listened to it for awhile but I work up with Pop Music. I tried all day to escape it. I gave up and as I took the recycling out tonight I gave the neighbors a serenade by singing it at the top of my lungs.

Controversy. I listened to the album thru last night for the first time in years. I finally replaced the cd after my ex took it when we divorced in the late 90's. I forgot how much I liked the title track. I was relieved I was able to even listen for more than a minute before having to turn it off. It's still very bittersweet tho and probably his music will always be that way for me now which makes me sad. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. I've got a 150 song Prince playlist on continuous shuffle on my ipod for when I'm at the gym. It helps drown out the abysmal crud that plays there. One song that's popped up three or four times this week has been Electric Chair, which is fine by me as I Love it. I was making our evening meal a couple of hours ago and there I was singing at the top of my voice in the kitchen.... 'If a man is considered guilty for what goes on in his mind then give me the electric chair for all my future crimes..'

I love the song so much that it was once my name on here for about 3 years in the early-mid 00's. I don't know what it is about the song but it has remained one of my favourites and I spend wayyy too much time walking around singing it. | |
