Good Love

Prince at his most playful! "Cherry pie, apple kisses everything is cool!"
I needed a bit of happiness with all the sad news. How many here love this song?

I've always loved it, it's definitely one of Prince's happiest/playful sounding songs for sure.

Free Urself always reminded me of Good Love in a way, same happy feel. Of course the way he says "yeah" is also somewhat similar to that song.

I have been thinking about this song. This is another one of those timeless songs; it doesn't sound like anything else that was out at the time it was released and it doesn't sound like anything now. The song is just completely euphoric. Love this song.

Of all the Gustav Mahler he could have been jammin... number 3!?! He would have been better with 2,5,6,8,9 or even 1.

Amazing track. I didn't have it before Crystal Ball. Easily the track I play most from that set.

Yes! Have always loved this song...and one of the tunes I can listen to lately that doesn't make me blue. Also a song that my non-hardcore fans don't seem to get. I get a lot of WHAT is This?!?!?. I think it has to do with Camille.

Yeah it's a great uplifting song that I have always loved ever since it was included on the soundtrack for the movie Bright Lights, Big City.

Great song. This was the tune that me question and seek out Gustav Mahler's work.

I was going to start a thread glad you beat me to it! Yes one of my all time favorites. Something about this song has always just made me feel super good. I had it as a bootleg long before it ever made it on the soundtrack.

I always felt he tried recreating the groove of this song with Song of the Heart...didn't quite sound as cool and fun as Good Love

Love his vocals on Good Love too! Just such a relaxed funky fun jam! If you're feeling blue and find it hard to listen to his music this is a great song to start with.

Finally I've always wondered why he sings "good love part II" was there supposed to a part I or was it just the second funky part of the song?

Love this song!! The imagery Prince paints with the lyrics is amazing and then throw in Camille with it! Masterpiece! Plus it introduced me to Mahler!

Now the light fades out and I wonder what I'm doing in a room like this

I read that somewhere years ago, but I guess I am wrong.

Hey, I didn't know that; I never bothered to compare the two. Anyway, the soundtrack version was the one I was talking about. Thanx for the responses everybody!

Bright Lights Big City is my all time favorite soundtrack! It's got Prince, New Order, Depeche Mode, Bryan Ferry. Add to that "Pump up the volume" and you got a great album! Every song on it is amazing!

Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.
