Surprised that no more unreleased tracks/versions have leaked...

I would have thought that the proverbial floodgates would have opened by now...

Thats an interesting point.

Has there been anything on youtube thats been a surprise to any of the long time collectors?

Also do people think the best of the 80's unreleased studio tracks have been heard one way or another?

A few did leak a day or two after his death, including some rehearsal jams, a version of Giving Them What They Love with only Prince's vocal and guitar isolated and a complete version of the outtake Velvet Kitty Cat, which previously circulated only in a snippet. Apart from that there hasn't been anything as far as I'm aware, I did think like you that more would have leaked by now but it's hardly the first thing on my mind at this time. Still, I wonder if there are any big leaks in the works hmmm

That would be kind of awesome. He emptied the vault already lol
Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

That's the question, innit. We all know there is gold in that Vault. But the mystery is, have we heard the best of it already?

I'm sure Prince leaked some of it. Even if giving a tape to a girl isn't the same as having it sold on bootleg CDs around the world a few years later.

I do wonder about stuff like 'Small Club, 2nd Show'. How did that soundboard start circulating? It's both an utterly incredible show and an unreleasable mess. Putting it out as a bootleg was the best of both worlds.

I think op is referring to the 'elite' collectors, rather than stuff being leaked directly from the vault. Those people who couldn't leak their stuff because it could be traced directly back to whoever got it from Prince and that person would then be in the shit.

Susannah stopped that mess from happening. Dont you remember that Susannah got on facebook and basically begged the prince army to stop leaking the unreleased stuff? It was like last wednesday. When Susannah gives an order to the army, we listen.

There's a virtually crystal clear recording of Prince's original version of The Dance Electric on YT, far better than the version on Work It 2.0 for example. That's new as far as I'm aware.

I was listening to that earlier. I should probably grab it before it disappears.

.
Maybe the elite are busy selling it to eye records - this year is surely going to be their last year to make any serious money off his back? Or they may even hold on to like P did until it isn't worth as much. Love you Purple Hippies! Be wild!

The next Blast From The Past is said to have a few exclusives on it. Although they've probably held that back since Prince's passing.

Since there's a bank or law firm in charge of the estate until matters are settled, I doubt if there will be any "leaked" songs. Those who worked with Prince for a long time I think would respect his wishes and not release anything until some time had passed.

Also, there's such a thing as too much information at once, and it hasn't even been a month yet, so there's still a matter of taking it all in.

More than any new unrelased vault music, I apprciate celebrities and fans telling their personal stories about their moments with Prince-those are more valuable to me now.

There have definitely been some great stories, it's been wonderful to read so many great stories regarding Prince.

There's a clear version of the song on Blast From The Past Volume 1, so unless the Youtube version is even better than that (I would try and hunt it down and compare but something is wrong with my ears right now so alas I cannot sad) that improved version has been circulating for a while.

I believe that that's the extended Andre version (with Prince's backing vocals still audible). Not at my computer at the moment so can't confirm at the moment.
