Are you buying any of the magazines?

Things with him on the cover: People, EW, etc. etc.?

I don't think I'll get any of them; not the way I want to remember him.

Y'all?

Just the Rolling Stone mag that I'm sure they'll issue to commemorate Prince.

Now that I think of it, if I saw the Billboard issue that might be something to have.

I snagged the People issue today. I went looking for the Billboard special but couldn't find it. Hopefully the music gear mags (Guitar Player/Keyboard) and other publications (Ebony/Essence/Mojo) will do the same.

I'll be getting the Rolling Stone issue, but only because it's an actual interview and not a 'commemorative collector's blah blah blah'...

I'm about a bundle of paper and and a box of clothes away from being a hoarder which is why I won't be buying many magazines. If I can find the Billboard and Rolling Stone that's in the works, that will be enough. I come here to keep up to date and I'm twelve years deep already, I ain't leaving.

I'm in Europe. I bought some Belgian, French and German magazines that had nice tributes. the French publications went all out with a myriad of pictures documenting his career. the American mags mostly aren't available on news stands here, except for Rolling Stone

I've bought the WH Smith (UK) tribute, which has a lot of nice pictures. I'll probably leave it at that.

I was just in Target today. My friend pointed out a couple on the shelf this week. I told him I couldn't do it. First, it's too early, and it's going to be nothing more than about how Purple Rain sold 13M records, and Percocet stories. I, too, will wait on the possible Rolling Stone tribute issue (or one of those picture book type editions they put out). Otherwise, there's nothing we haven't heard, and it's doubtful any of those magazines are going to have any pictures we've not seen (most of us anyway).

.

It's too much right now, and the last thing I want is stacks of dead trees reminding me how the greatest musician that ever lived is now gone.

and old girl friend who lives in MPLS got me some of the local papers and is sending them to me...

and my objection to that $11 is it seems excessive and that they are cashing in on his death.

but it looks like a well done book... maybe i will get one later

I haven't yet but I have read the Enquirer piece --- I was standing in very long line at grocery store and picked it up----- I know many people will not admit to reading it but I will go ahead and say that I am curious to see if he knew he was dying - if he had some illness-- and I read most of the story-- Obviously they do lie, but they said he was getting his affairs in order in recent months and had even written his will recently. Oh really? Well, where is it?

I saw People and US mags in grocery store today. I picked up People's then put it back. I just cant buy one yet with me hurting so much. Besides the media is cashing in on our grief. I just want my Prince back.

I want to get some but only those that are/will be solely dedicated to P. If it's only 2 or 10 pages of the issue dedicated to him, not interested.

I'm going to Barnes and Noble tomorrow morning to look at what they have but I'm not sure if I'll be walking out of there with something.
