Prince Blu-ray's?

I know Prince did not make that many movies, 4 if I remember correctly, I have the dvd's of Purple Rain, Graffiti Bridge, Under The Cherry Moon, and Sign O The Times (the Alliance Atlantis version thanks to the Org). Do any of you think by chance these would get issued on blu-ray available in the states? I believe Purple Rain already is, however the quality from what I hear is so-so.........

Given that some of his recent concerts has been made during the HD era, a few of those on blu-ray would be nice, wishful thinking I know.......

Its 5 if you count 3 chains o'gold.

Graffiti Bridge and UTCM were flops so i cant see anyone taking an interest in re-issuing them on blu-ray. Why lose more money? It makes no sense.

I think concerts like sign of the times and even the detroit birthday celebration of 1986 could be digitally remastered and put on blu-ray.

I have Purple Rain and Sign on Bluray.

they were relitivly common here in Aus. I say were as this was before last week of course.

If you want me to pick them up for you let me know. from memory Sign Bluray was about $15/$20 each (AU$) - that's about $13-$17 US$... and Purple Rain is $10au ($7US)

I have Purple Rain on blu, and would certainly buy the others if they were available. I don't think it's out of the question, either - there are much more obscure movies than Under the Cherry Moon, Sign o' the Times, and Graffiti Bridge out on blu-ray.

Thanks! I've got it on DVD and my Blu-ray player does upscale. Hopefully this is true HD. Watching anyway.

I bought Purple Rain on BluRay back around 2008, & the picture quality is FAR superior than the dvd. Picture & Sound are great on it (the bass is knockin'), beacuse of the 1:85 ratio it takes up the whole screen. I also own the Sign O The Times blu ray set, I bought it from Amazon japan a few years back. Also great sound & picture quality, accept for the U Got The Look video which was obviously sourced from footage unable to b upscaled the same as the concert footage was. Highly recommend both purchases, 2 of my favorite bits of Prince video I own.

Yes, while the movie was shot on film, the U Got the Look clip was shot on SD video, so there's nothing much could be done with that. I'm going to be seeing the film in the cinema in a couple weeks, and part of me is dreading seeing that sequence on the big screen. confused

Yeah I have the Aus Blu of Sign and it's pretty great. I think the Japanese release used the same master. I'd say get the PR Blu and Sign and the Batman Blu as it has Prince vids as extras as does the PR Blu.
