Great video. While I don't like his movies, Kevin Smith is an entertaining speaker and his respect for Prince shines.

Thanks for pointing us to this.
The part about Prince's respect to Mayte was touching, then funny when he described Prince's face when he asked about how to pronounce her name.

I couldn't speak about the death, listen to his music, or read posts here for days, but I think I've started to come to terms with it since yesterday. I can appreciate the humor, the stories, the music.

Indeed. He got many of his facts wrong, but overall it was a very touching and funny clip. I've been enjoying all the funny wee stories that have been coming out about Prince lately. Would much rather he was still with us, of course, but I think happy memories and funny stories definitely help.

This thread was posted yesterday too, several hours before your one - it had dropped off the first page, though.

essential viewing as an add-on to Smiths standup piece on Prince.

I hope anyone whose take away from the stand up was 'prince is an ass' sees Smith weeping about the loss of him and about Prince taking time for his kid.

did he ever say if Prince actually ended up speaking to him about that documentary footage ?
