Things I am dreading

One of the things I am dreading is the tacky cheap books they put out when an artist dies - like they did with MJ- you would see them in Target and bookshops - cheap books with ugly photos - I am dreading going to the shops and seeing those on shelves.

What things are others dreading?

OH and in the middle of my grief right now it is hard to hear Prince music in shops because I have not been able to play it yet - not ready to go there.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

Life without newly recorded music and performances. That sense of unpredictability and excitement. Never waiting in the rain for 7 hours or by my laptop for him again.

That all references to Prince henceforth will be in past tense.

WB compilation albums

.

Hearing Purple Rain again, and again, and again

.

Ex band members forming tribute bands (Unless it's the Revolution)... Don't know why, but I hate the idea of a hybrid NPG or something.

.

Albums of vault material mixed by Joshua Welton... Nice guy I'm sure, and good friend to Prince, but let's have Jimmy Jam or someone!

.

Are these harsh?

That there does it for me. The books etc mentioned yes but that there - no one does that.

You know what else? My next concert. It isn't booked but I know I will cry throughout as I will think it isn't him. My whole twitter account was for him and is just full of him.

Whatever you heard about me is true
I change the rules and do what I wanna do

Not checking online everyday for then next gig (being near London, we were always spoilt).

Not getting that new album.

Not standing in the wind and rain waiting to be let into a badly organised gig.

Not seeing Prince live ever again.

it's been a very numb few days. I've been reading and reading things over and over in the hope to make some sense of it all. But this post made me actually write a response....true dat SquirrelMeat....

Very hard and confusing time for us....I hope his legacy is treated with the respect and dignity it deserves. Still keep thinking to see a new tweet or post from the P camp about his shennanigans. 27 years....very hard time.

I'm so glad I saw him in Toronto last month. It was such an awesome concert. I'm going to miss his live performances and just knowing he's alive out there somewhere. sad

that the vault will not be heard by his most diehard fans because of infighting, greed and lack of organisation.

that is top most of my list of dreads too - but the book thing will freak me out to see anything tacky tied in with Prince will make me so angry

That's my biggest dread. If there's a stream of unheard music that keeps coming then he is still with us, living on through the music. If that music doesn't come and we've had the last ever release of something new with Prince's name on it... cry

If that happens then what was the point of the vault? I don't want to dwell on those thoughts though.

RIP sad

This... I remember trying to hold in grabbing the AOA leak so I could buy the physical first.

Gonna miss him.

Never seeing him in concert again. My chances in recent years were always limited, I couldn't queue for hours any more (health issues) but I did see him in Manchester a couple of years ago, and it was utterly wonderful, he was as amazing as I remembered from my old gig days (late 80's/early 90's). I never lost hope I'd see him again somehow, but now that door is closed forever.

The grotty tabloid bunfight when the final autopsy details are revealed.

That it's the end and a part of my youth has gone with him.

There is this overwhelming feeling of some part of me just grew up. Like I just shed the last remanant of teenage innocence all these years and years later.

At the same time I do feel that I am a better person, not a bitter person.
