I played his first records in a row, starting with For You to Controversy. Then I put everything on shuffle.

Let's Work, because my brother always have m,e play that song for him. It's 20 years, and he still demands me to play that song. My brother Isiah has autism. "Let's Work is definitely his all time favorite song. He jumps up and down and literally screams the lyrics. That's saying something because my brother dosn't talk much due to his condition. I end up playing many Prince songs that night....but I still can't play Neon Rendezous (from his unreleased 1984 birthday rehearsal concert). That's always been MY Prince song. That song got me through so many tough times. That was the song I played when Prince was with us. 19 minutes of unearthly perfection. I may be strong enough to play that song...someday.

In the car leaving work after hearing of his ascension, I started with 'Compassion'...was fine on that one then was good on 'Lavaux'....then 'Future Soul Song' started and I lost it completely.

"Last night I had a dream that I was flying for the first time. And in my dream I could pilot my flight with the thoughts in my mind." Done...I was just destroyed. sad

I was exercising, and I wanted to play something fast but positive, so I played Push.

I think it will be quite some time before I'm emotionally strong enough to listen to Sometimes It Snows In April.

First song I reached for was Way Back Home. Big mistake tho, I was crying like a baby driving to work and had to sit in the car park for 10 mins before I could go in

This was a big decision for me and I chose Under The Cherry Moon. It's haunting sonic quality and lyrics about dying were significantly poignant now. It's always been one of my faves of his.

In fact, I think a lot of the music from that era are riddled with themese of death....Old Frinds 4 Sale (unreleased version), Sometimes It Snows In April, There's Others Here with Us, etc.

When I heard him start to sing 'How can I stay to, Stay where I am?' I started bawling.

That was "Clouds" from AOA.... a snippet of a performance of it (do not from which TV show, anyone knows?) was shown many times on CNN on the day of his death. And then in the morning at 6am CET after sitting 8hours in front of CNN and browsing the internet for news, I suddenly needed to hear "Clouds"... [Edited 4/23/16 10:13am]

Pretty sure that was from SNL.

Gold. That song always just does it for me. The combination of the lyrics and excellent keyboard parts just makes me feel good.

I haven't listened to a whole song since it happened. I just can't go all the way through a song without starting to feel empty. I completely lost my shit on friday listening to Raspberry Beret, which ironically is the song that made me feel happy and cheered up at all times...

4 The Tears In Your Eyes, I don't know why. That and Glam Slam which made me smile. I've been listening to those constantly. Today I've been humming The Cross.

I was at work when I found out. But when I got into my car I put on "Sometimes It Snows In April" When I first saw the tweet I was thinking "no, no, no" I went into the bathroom and cried. I want to celebrate him as well though. Erotic City works for that. But so many songs make me cry.

I'll be standing naked with nothing but a smile on๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Same for me. It was on the radio when I got in my car. All the MN stations were playing Prince constantly after the news broke. First album was Diamonds & Pearls.

For You. I just had to hear those harmonies. I was born in '82 but this was the song that solidified me as a fan since my sister introduced me to him in the early '90s.
