I sleep better with the thought he just said fuck it, I've had enough; than to think he was addicted to drugs and messed up a dose.

There's a part of me that wonders if Prince took himself out. I find it very odd that the circumstances of his death aligns with the lyrics of 2 of his more popular songs.

Hmm. If there was no will, or anything similar, how were they able to tell Prince wanted his body to be cremated?

I don't live in the US, so I'm not familiar with how such things are handled over there.

I've been wondering the same thing.

They don't have to know what he wanted. If he did not have it prearranged or in an available will, then the next of kin decides. They can decide based on what they think the person would want, or use their own personal preference, or do whatever is affordable.

I can't imagine Prince would have wanted any drama over his funeral and doesn't this tie in with his JW beliefs anyway? No real mystery or surprises here for me.

RIP sad

I didn't mean to start any conspiracy theories or anything of the kind. Just mentioned the chance that Tyka and others might not have wanted to know the ugly truth on what really caused his death if further testing would be needed.

They have all the tissue samples they need to rule cause of death in collection during autopsy, morbid thoughts I know.

We are all so full of doody here

i cant help but think that...the symmetry with lyrics from a few of his songs does lend some viability to the suspicions of suicide or even socalled "illuminati hit"

Another interesting read from FoxNews:

Sounds as the police shrugged this off. (My opinion).

Long time fans will not be suprised if there indeed was drug abuse. Its like when you see someone in your family or a coworker start going downhill. Many have publicly speculated such, as his work took a steep and sudden decline in 1988. It was such a stark and sudden decline that people were perplexed with the marginal 90's work by such a talented artist.

Then there was the sudden and drastic religious incubation. Its so common when this happens to drug addicts and prison inmates that it is stereotypical of people desperately grasping for anything to hold on to.

The signs were always there.

Don't think so personally, not all Sign of the Times songs were written ad hoc for the album, two coming from 1982. Lovesexy, Batman, Grafitti Bridge don't resemble a big decline to me, and Sign of the Times isn't his best album by some margin, for the same reason that the white album isn't the beatles best: they would sound like greatest hits albums otherwise, because they're not concept albums.

It may be true that Prince experimented with hard drugs, and had taken ecstacy in '87 but he was never wanton to addiction, as it wasn't his nature, and had he been the evidence surely would have surfaced by now.

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

Just speculating, but if he had been on Percocet a while, then quite possibly the harm to his health came from the paracetamol more than the opioid. It would fit with the stomach ache, pale skin, loss of appetite he was reported to be suffering.

Well we dont know. Its just speculation at the moment.
And NO ONE, thinks they will ever become addicted. Everyone thinks they can control themselves.
When it comes to addition to painkillers, its a dificult situation, and its become too common.

Stomache pain and constipation are some of the most common side effects of opiod pills. The acetaminophen in percocet and other pain pills causes a lot of the stomache problem.

The Sheriff's office made very strange comments, imo, during their press conference, about Prince always being a private person and how they would also protect his privacy during death. I dunno if Andy Taylor and Barney Fife got what it takes to investigate what happened to him. I just get the impression they were initialy starstruck to the point that they didn't get serious with the likely criminal aspects of his death until days after the fact.

Those comments make perfect sense to me. They made it clear that the press wasn't going to get morbid, descriptive details about what was found in the elevator and that they weren't going to offer up speculations that could be tossed out as clickbait headlines.

They didn't say that, but I know where you are going with it. The issue that day was the question 'Was Prince a healthy person?' It seemed as though the officer had information to the contrary, but did not say it as it might not reflect the image Prince wanted the public to see. That's odd behavior for a Sheriff's office. I'm not sure their report will be thorough whenever it does become available. I think they are focused more on making a deal for a potential tourist attraction/museum at Paisley Park, than getting to the truth of what happened and making their findings available to the public.

none of us know yet, dogging his 90's music is just a subjective thing and not evidence that he was drugged up. In fact, most artists of his generation and some from before, fell off the map after they got some money and acclaim. Prince was always putting out albums, way more than anyone else and probably performed more than Madonna, Michael or Bruce. So, artistic decline is just subjective speculation.

Personally, had he been such a bad druggie all the years, i keep saying, I don't see how he could keep such a tight lid on it, or how he could even function. Look at Whitney, Michael and Elvis, they made fools of themselves with some of their actions. Prince never did that. We're not gonna know shit for awhile and it does more harm than good to throw out a million theories. I understand it but we've got to show some restraint and just wait.
