There's no smoking gun, there's no one responsible or to blame. In the end a lot of people were desperately trying to save his life - and respect his privacy and dignity at the same time which was very important. If we are going to start throwing inappropriate fault around then his fans, the media and the public could be named as well since it was probably preferable he not go to a local hospital or other facilities. This was a global celebrity who craved his space and privacy and that's not out of line. I wish he were still here too and he should be. That's he not is not for lack of trying. None of these people are criminals no matter how much you want them to be.

I strongly agree with what you said - and don't think it can be repeated enough here - with one exception.

Prince has been getting medical care here his entire life, and I daresay 99% of us have heard squat or less about it. I think people are giving far too much credence to the notion that Minnesota was not a place where Prince could received private and confidential care. Frankly there are people more well known worldwide than even Prince who have received private medical and addiction care in Minnesota. Generally their names are uncovered only if they choose to talk about it later.

Mayo Clinic, one of the best, not that far away...

There's this show that I watch called Autopsy, in fact I'm watching it now. it's about the death of celebrities, and it's a reinactment of their death, in which a specialist explains the cause of death and autopsy results revealing exactly how and why the celebrity dies. In fact, it's on now, and I'm watching about the death of Elvis Presley. I've seen many shows about other celebs such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Jimi Hendrix, Heath Ledger, etc. They do pretty good reinactments of the celebs, and tell their story with viewpoints from those that knew them, etc. I was just thinking that one day, they will probably do Prince's death also. Has anyone seen this show? I would like to know others opinion of it if they watch.

I've seen those shows and thought it was extremely intrusive and the reenactments made it worse. I started seeing the one on Amy Winehouse, and I had to change it, the fact that the doctor couldn't even pronounce bulimia right annoyed me. Not to mention the experts thought weed and cannabis were different things lol. I hope they don't do one on Prince

I seen that show. I did not appreciate the Michael Jackson one, because they had the nerve to show him on the medical examiner table. They had access to the photos cause they were used in the court case. Reinactments are one thing, but showing the actual autopsy photos are another. For some reason, I could not watch the Prince one. I just couldn't.

Conor

Gglow, autopsy shotos are public records, and anyone interested enough can go to the morgue and view them.

Thanks GGLow and avajane for replying. I wouldn't want to watch the Prince one either if they ever do one, but I'm sure they will as soon as they get the chance. I couldn't even stomach those awful Enquirer reenactment photos of him that were on every checkout stand around, because they just put the thought of how he died out there, and in my head. Now, they are saying that he was dead for over 6 hours before being found, yet another awful piece of news that's hard to hear.

Makes no difference..your response is that of an enabler, when we enabler we make excuises as to why they are taking...Best believe, that if a plane diverrts he went went past the poiint of medicincal paion purposes and it was euphoric...

Folks on here think Prince was differnt cuzz he made PR; nope..He may have thjought that as well and thinking cost him unfportunately his life

An enabler I am not. I am s 41 year old woman who lives in chronic disabling pain everyday of my life bc of 10 spine surgeries to get me out of my wheelchair. Paib so bad it's compared to someone w stage 4 cancer, that's who I am. So I guess I can understand s little easier the mind set of someone in pain all day everyday. The only course of treatment and relief for me that works, and we have tried then all, is pain medication w physical therapy and massages etc. I just feel like you are more or less calling everyone on opioid an addict if at some point there body gas grown tolerant to a particular dose. I'm not saying its OK if he self medicated and took more than he should have trust me. But I'm also not gonna lie and say I don't understand why he did it. And I just don't think it's always emotional cravings cause I do not crave them like that. I just went pain relief. And sometimes we have to work to tweak doses to get the right for for me. Each person s different. I'm not trying to argue I hope u know that. Just trying to have a civil conversation. I think it is important. [Edited 5/21/16 10:13am]

I thought this article from a couple weeks ago seemed relevent to this conversation. My apologies if it has already been posted somewhere, I don't have the heart to read all the pages of this thread:

I have read that a Narcan shot can cause immediate, severe withdrawal symptoms (because it instantly negates the effect of opiods in the body, which can be very tough for an addicated user).

And this is speculation -- but perhaps withdrawal symptoms from the Narcan shot from the plane incident, combined with inadequate aftercare, sent him down a hard spiral, which he ended up "self treating" on April 20-21 with too much opiod? Obviously we won't know this until the official report's done (and maybe not even then), but I can't stop myself from wondering about this, because so much of it just makes so logical sense to me.

My sister is a nurse and aaid that the 'save shot' probably stipped his system so that now he had no tolerance to this medication and was probably advised not to take any more of it but then he did. Not necessarily an 'overdose' but maybe his usual amont which was fine when he has the tolerance for it and not so fine anymore.

Sadly, the longer it takes for the autopsy to be revealed, the more the varied rumors about the cause of his death persists. sad

Yes. I feel this could be the case. The "save shot" might clear out not only the drug from the system but also the tolerance one has developed from taking the drug.
So if you're going to stRt taking it again, it can't be at the dosage you've become accustomed to - it has to be at a very beginning dosage again. (Maybe. I am GUESSING about all of this).

The other thing I've felt is something DIFFERENT or inclusive in some way of what I noted above, that what could have happened is that he was trying to detox himself from a medication(s) (maybe the reason for the IV to address the dehydration and also the "increased agitation" they are now saying he had over those last 6 days). That part made me the saddest so fR because I know what that discomfort is like (from something similar I detoxed from).

I also want to say that I don't feel there's anything wrong about wanting to know what happened, as Prince was all about having honest open discussions about important subject matters if they could help others. He's with God now and might want that.

The key is to be respectful of him as the person he was.
