This. It almost killed my father THIS year! It spread throughout his body, and he couldn't walk! It took two months of him being in the hospital and an month and a half at home to help build back strenght in his muscles. The flu is nothing to fuck around with! Prince needs to rest. Hell I even had this nasty flu bug this year. I was dizzy, feeling cold but sweating, and coughing until I vomit. This year has been very bad for flu and pnemonia.

If it's pneumonia, or even if it's just a nasty case of flu, there are a number of reasons that might require an emergency landing with a trip to the hospital and make one's health deteriorate quickly, especially after performing two shows and the chaos of traveling, etc.

One very possible reason, imo, is that after two concerts in one night, and if Prince wasn't fully recovered and was, as usual, putting forth his best performance and trying to keep the energy level up, he got dehydrated. We don't know Prince's personal medical history but even the healthiest person will feel like total shit if they get dehydrated, and if Prince has any pre-existing conditions besides, getting dehydrated can cause dizziness, fainting, nausea/vomiting, bad headache, and heart issues like palpitations (if your electrolytes are out of whack, which CAN be very serious). There are probably other symptoms as well I'm not remembering. After a few bags of IV fluid though, a person will feel much improved and will be released, and I'm wondering if that's what happened in Prince's case, but who knows.

Maybe he had a fever and the fever was getting higher or was high enough to make Prince and those around him concerned. A fever will definitely make a person feel horrible. I had a skin infection last year that caused a fever of 102 for a couple days (I was hospitalized for three days for that infection btw) and that fever made me feel like a crappy limp dishrag, it was awful.

Whatever is going on with Prince, I wish him well and fast healing. But he's got to REST and not push things. Flus and pneumonia and certain viruses are no joke and it takes time to get back to full strength, especially the strength and energy Prince requires for his shows. Take some time to just rest, Prince. Treat that bod good and let yourself completely recuperate. Countless people are sending you healing vibes. <3

Prince was still recovering from the flu. The flu takes a lot out of you, especially as we age. But, he, being Prince, wanted to make sure he gave the fans the best show possible. The man was incredible last night, he played and sang his heart out, putting out so much energy that the entire theatre was filled with it. Putting out that kind of energy can take a lot out of a person. I can't imagine that it is easy to perform 2 shows, no breaks really, with that kind of energy and dynamics. Of course, if he wasn't fully recovered from the flu, it's possible to have a relapse if you push yourself too hard, too soon.

Trust that he is getting the best medical care. I'm sure he has some great doctors that work with him. He just needs to rest and allow himself to fully recuperate before trying to put out that kind of energy again. And the fans need to chill! Allow him time to recuperate before begging for more concerts. "Funk is space", and maybe we ought to give him some space without demanding something from him.
