I agree with you.
But frankly, I think the mods will lock this thread because it's a political issue, even though Prince mentioned it.
He doesn't have the best political views when it comes to things like this. He's been listening too much to the media, I think

Remember when Prince was Bob George? Or, when he was 'gansta' in the early 90's with that pistol microphone telling Tony to 'shoot that piece of sh*t'? He should practice what he preaches...

Just sayin'. When it fits his narrative, it's all good.

This is what scares me about Americans. "I will never ever trust the US Government to proctect me and my loved ones .." What on earth are u still doing there. Talk about behind the times. The real old western cowboys who think they're wild. It's nuts. And you call this "the land of the free?" Man man man. They better lock this thread soon.

Listening too much to the media? The NRA doctrine has really got to you right? Like Bluegangsta mentioned, check the statistics. Gun control would be a very good idea for the US. And well... If you really want to drag Prince into this for his point of view on this, check the cover of the Controversy album (35 years ago).

If you truly believe in the statement, "to each his own", there is no reason for you to "have really lost a lot of respect for him for that...", right?

I agree with this guy

as for Prince's stance on guns . . I don't trust a guy who lives in his own (arguably reclusive) world by his own standards to make decisions on how to run society. He's simply not someone who has any credibility in that capacity. Does Prince know the price of a gallon of milk?

Nor people who love to hunt.

It's his stance, his utopian view. The world would be better without guns imo. I don't think all the guns will ever be taken away though, it's just not realistic in any way shape or form, I wish it were though. I think guns are ok, but they're designed to do one thing: KILL

Exactly. So we should make a general rule from an exceptional (and unlikely) case.

Funny it's that line that offends you about the song.

For me, it's "ain't no sense in voting".

BTW, I do think it would be wonderful if we could take as many guns away as possible and limit it to law enforcement, the military and lawful hunting. If that could be achieved, there would be far fewer gun-related tragedies.

Yes. That line got me too.

@Babynoz: I hear you. That's of course the cultural stereotype description. You have to admit, a lot of Amercicans really think like that when it comes to gun control. Seen the weirdest of stuff online. It's scary man. The ignorance and the guns.

Never associated Yahoo though. We in EU think more, coco-cola, hamburgers, movies, bling bling and incessant loud speech. biggrin Every culture has their stereotype. Where I come from they think we're all prostitutes and drug addicts cool

Yahoos are what we call backward people. It's embarassing to be associated with them, lol When they can't even spell bear arms correctly it kind of reinforces the point.
