When has Prince proved you wrong?

With the recent news of Prince's book and the majority of hardcore fans thinking that it'll never come out, or it will be his own romanticized version of events - it seems that everyone wouldn't mind being proven wrong for once... Or is it just once?

When has Prince ever proven you wrong?

I think you have been proved wrong already with your statement that the majority of hardcore fans thinks the book is never to come out. I don't think anyone will want to reread all ten pages of that thread, but from what I read, there's only a few who have their doubts. Lots of fans are excited about this news. And even if it's a romanticized version of his life (and that's very likely) it will still tell us something about him.

I was certain I would have problems with free admission to the Sunset Strip's House of Blues during the ONA...Live tour on the 20th or 21st of April. I was certain I wouldn't get in at all.

But low and behold, I show up to the venue seeing a huge mass of several hundred people crowding the front door. Regardless, I was ushered right on in, not having to pull any green out of my wallet. Seeing the big huhe crowed stuck outside would have made pulling a couple bux outtay wallet acceptable if it gained me entrance. But I got free entry when I expected to not be let in at all. I was jazzed! Then he came with a rocked out version of paisley park and heaven was revealed to be real to me....and that's putting it lightly.

Well, it's a good thing there are venues that'll house the opionions of fans outside of that thread, isn't it?

I thought he would never perform on American Idol. I was wrong. But at the same time, as a fan, I liked that so many decades into his career he could still suprise me.

I never thought he'd...

...appear on Oprah.

...lipsync on Soul Train.

...appear on a sitcom.

...release an album with several songs on it that I could only listen to once (Hit n Run Phase One).

...stop perming his hair.

...have a Twitter account.

...become a staple at awards shows.

...even contemplate an autobiography.

I thought P would never make daytime TV show appearances. Could never see him in 80's ruffles and garb talking to Donahue or Sally Jessy. I also could never see him hanging out with The Muppets..And if you told me in 1980 that he woud be making a b&w french comedy film I would have looked at you like you were crazy.

Well he has not proved me wrong completely but he has surprised me.

-

I thought he was not interested in politics but he came out and stood up for Baltimore. This is good.

He has also proven that he can tour without his
