"two broken circles join together and make a butterfly"

A question I've had since the first listen of 1,000 Light Years Away - How do two broken circles join together and make a butterfly? Is this some kind of geometric poeticism I'm not getting?

Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

A little more context please?

It's a lyric in the second half of Black Muse on hitnrun phase 2, but I think it's two unbroken circles

Like, idk I thought it was because if you draw two overlapping circles (basically think of a venn diagram) it kinda looks like a butterfly: the oval in the middle is the "body" while the rest of the two circles on either side make the "wings", but maybe I'm drastically underthinking it in the light of the previous comment biggrin

When I heard the lyric, that's the first thing that I pictured and that was good enough for me too. smile

My opinion only: Two circles joined together once told to me by a very wise gentleman. He said very calmly, "The Two to One"I said, "What do you mean?" He said, " Like the many to one." It has taken me well over an emensurate amount of years in my now to capture his prophetic statment that was directly related to me. The Butterfly effect and I am not talking about TheMothman Chronicles. If you have not lived the effect then you can't imagine the two to one vibrating in the possibility of a forever, "what if," especially knowing fully well your spiritual epicenter and centrifugal life force could be or could have changed the world together. This goes deeper than just saying,"well you didn't." Based on the FACT that both of your circles are "still waiting" to collide. Now, if you can get a grip on what eyem saying: simply put... was his decision based on doubting his prophey would come true in the faith his vision saw within traumatic choices she is making or made? He not being able to interfere with her choices OR are her choices going to be made because she knows his prophetic words are true? Saying no in any choice IS NOT a final choice in free will. It is merely a change in path that reaches destiny anyways, since the final roll call IS up to God, period. The butterfly effect lands on your right shoulder only because we feel we have to make a choice but in knowing the outcome eternally no choice was ever needed just a strong will to hold on and say to each other; I love You because we were made into circles before we took our first breath and we were KISSED into being alive. The circles still wait like "Water For Chocolate" and it's never to late to smile, wait...and know the effect will arrive, on time...it is just around the corner 🌹 With love and respect, Arjuna Envision a room where u mentally close your eyes speak a name hold out your hand to say "Come to Me" because eyem "Still Right Here Right Now". Like a strand of pearls each leads into a circle that also goes around the Sun ☀️. ONE ONE ONE ONE ONE. [Edited 3/15/16 19:56pm]

You put it down on this post, Arjuna, taking deep to a whole new level. The butterfly effect never would have occurred to me in a million years but you made it fit beatifully into the context here, adding a whole new dimension of meaning.

^ Thanks. Nice posts Arjuna! Now I know also why the lyric somewhere 'on your right shoulder' fits it. I wondered what it meant. I will have to go and do some more research on this. cool

I don't wish to be pedantic, but an 'unbroken circle' is surely just, you know, a circle?

It must be broken circles. If you were to take a ring and cut it than bend that portion down you might have two partial curves that could resemble a butterlfy wing.

Official lyrics printed in the HnRII cd booklet say "2 unbroken circles joined 2gether make a butterfly".

.

At first, I was having trouble visualizing the circles, but when I read the comments in this thread about the Venn diagram, that's when I understood they were wedding rings, and interlocked rings do loosely resemble a butterfly (if you use a bit of imagination). Linking gold bands together would likely require breaking/cutting them; however, pictures of linked (unbroken) bands are commonly found among collections of wedding clip art to represent the union of 2 becoming 1, on wedding invitations and such.
