Best version of "4 The tears in your eyes"?

Was curious to know which version is favorited by the orgers. I prefer the version on the hits b sides .the one on "we are the world" album is ok but sounds like a psychedelic furs song.

Same here. The B-Sides version was the first version of the song I ever heard, so that's probanly why I like it more. The tempo seems a bit "off" to me on the We Are the World version. shrug

I like both versions for different reasons, but the acoustic B-Sides version has always had a more serious grip on me for its emotionality, delicate and touching guitar licks. I enjoy the USA for Africa version very much but the B-Sides version moves me. So I gotta go with that one.

But I love them both. cool

The B-sides, the mix is muddy as fuck, the passion is way high and it's got such personality to it.

We R the World version please. It just carries more emotion for me personally. The acoustic version is nice and all but is more somber than joyous.

Yeah, the We Are The World version-- I like it a lot. The B-sides version never really did anything for me but make me want to pull out the We Are The World album again.

Saw the film clip live during the Live Aid telecast and thought...... WOW!

P had cut of all his hair and had it slick back. And it was just him and the girls.

Have loved this version ever since.

What was "produced" for the LP later on was just.... meh for me.

I knew the song as an accoustic ballad, and thats what it will always be. wink

cool

The video version...which I guess is the We Are the World version.

I love that "ish"!

The B Sides version is alright but it doesn't compare to the We Are the World version.

The video version is the one on The B-Sides.

The sped up version is what's on the WATW album.

The b-sides version (video version) is an amazing song, I love this deeply.. love

however I knew about the original We Are The World version already and I heart this version even more..

the "psycadelica" production on the original is wonderful and suits this song in an excellent way.....

Amazing track, both versions... music

So it was played on TV at the time? I thought for some reason that it'd been omitted from the live broadcast. Was it played live on the 13th of July?

This was my memory as well. I had been staying in downtown Boston at a two-week overnight arts camp and came home on a Saturday (IIRC?) for just the afternoon when Live Aid was in full swing. Pure luck that I was at home and in front of the TV when P's video was broadcast live. I think I've only seen that video one other time since that day.

Shit! You're right. And it makes sense too.

But for some reason, I remeber the video much more than listening to the Album version. confused
