You can't always judge an album by it's cover or by the first impression the first track makes, but these songs showed a lot of heart and fresh distinctive musicianship which is always a good thing when you press play on a new album. Prince clearly understands the importance of first impressions whether his energy or creativity holds up for the rest of the album or not.

It's an awesome opening first two verses of a brilliant album, but I've never been a huge fan of the song — given everything else.
