Still cant look at HitnRun1 as a true Prince album.

Sorry. As a devoted fanatic from the first record in 1978, what can I say?

I hit up HitnRun 1 once and then ran away, but I do stick around for HitnRun 2. lol

I find when u listen to the two together it makes a nice mix up. As for just phase 1, I agree it's rough.

Well, I guess that's why it's called hit and run... lol

Time will be very unkind to this particular albums' sound.

I'm sure you'll recover from the trauma eventually. Have you thought of joining an Anonymous victims group? Maybe discussing it with other victims would make you feel better, I mean not on the internet but people u can be in a room with.

To each their own.. I think the AOA to HNR2 series as being ALL pretty good stuff.

Change it one more time..

Same here. Not even a Prince record, imo. I've never listened after the first time I played it. Phase II, I've played at least 50 times or so, even though I don't think much of it either. AOA and PE are also on my, 'not real Prince albums' list.

To me it's the essence of Prince. Remember when he used to surprise, and bewilder? I mashed up AOA and HnR 1 into one set and it's damn compelling, at least to me.

Right...I actually thought it was some kind of trick to get some nobody EDM punk some exposure. It is like it is really a Josh album that Prince allowed to use his name to get people to listen to it.

Nothing traumatizes me. The life that I have lived has guaranteed that. What Prince does is of interest to me - and has been for decades - but I live in the real world. I am not one of these young internet punks

Because funksterr doesn't like them. Which is all your saying it's "not a true Prince album" means, too.

They're all Prince albums. And some Prince fans don't like them. Good Lord, why start a thread to say that, but pretend you're saying something else? We've already got enough "I don't like [this album]" threads masquerarding as something else.

I like every song on Phase One except for track 1. That is a fantastic album to me. Its so good to hear Prince do some current sounding music. Phase two is ok but I am still playing Phase one much more. I can't wait to see what Phase three has to offer in the spring.

I struggle to sit through the whole album but there's still 2 or 3 gems on it for me in 1000 X's & O's, Hardrocklover and June.

I know most of the ppl here prefer PHASE 2 as the "better album" overall... However those 3 songs u just stated, imo ofc... Are the better songs, stronger than anything on Phase 2.

You should give it a few listens from start to finish. I think it works well as an album. I think it has some of his best lyrics in years.

I've tried Phase One a few times but gave up on it, I just don't like the majority of the songs. The only one I like and play sometimes is 1000 Hugs & Kisses.

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

I can't stand it and will never, ever listen to a song from it again. But I respect Prince for trying something new.

Not enough Prince. 1800NewFunk and the early NPG records are the saw way, for me.
