It's not that I don't like the current artwork, but I do feel that with a more lush photo, it would have a little more class to it. What I did is just something quick, and it's in no way better than the current artwork, but I do wonder how many people here can come up with something that DOES look better in under 5 minutes... | |

But seriously....Prince's album covers are so bad. The last great one was The Rainbow Children's cover.

Though I agree with you, I loved the cover of Lotusflower (though I wish he'd stuck with the uncropped version). |

Like I said in another thread....an artist of Prince's stature should not have to A) make his fans jump through hoops just to get his music (I already have Hit and Run II via dubious means while I wait for the physical cd to arrive) and B) why do his album covers look like they are created in Microsoft Paint?
Point of clarification: I actually did like the cover to MPLSound. The cover to Lotusflower is terrible. | |

I like the color pallette of the "Phase 2" package- warm colors for a warm sounding album. I think Prince just has bad taste in art judging by the album covers, "Parade","SOTT", and "Rainbow Children" notwithstanding. In fact, the bad art may have hurt sales a little.over the years. | |

I don't mind Redfoxbandits artwork, it's not my favourite but it's not the worst. The reason I think Prince chose Redfoxbandit is because he works in a very minimalist style which is very en vogue right now. It's all over logos, just take a look at the facebook and google logos and compare them to their logos from say-8 years ago. I'm not a huge fan of the style (minimalist), it's kinda old to my eyes now.
