P was paid to sing.

P omitted whole verses.

So I might understand he did a poor job of performing for that kind of money.

More importantly when did you stop referring to him as 'the Prince man'

.

It is not that important when I am in a hurry. (hence the P)

The Prince man (aka P) has plenty of time to rehearse, plan his gig and the setup he will use there.

So why 'forget' lyrics?

He didn't forget Dirty Mind, he was improvising, he was talking about figuring out his wonderful self, then he sang some more. Maybe you just like the records.
What?

I've always love Prince playing piano. It's always been my favourite bit of UTCM. He has a style that really shows his personality. It's very unusual and captivating. Some of the runs are really wonderful and make my stomach turn over (in a good way)

Are there any competent keys players here who can comment on his style and skill? I can't remember anyone else who plays like him.

Love these recordings. Show 2 I'm really loving, but the sound quality is better I guess.

I have never been in the USA.

I will not be in the USA until after the revolution.

Or perhaps after an illegal rendition operation before the revolution.

Do you really think Prince would allow filming at a performance at his own venue?

He filmed the gig himself (had some people do that, as is the case in most non-PP performances).

You mean 'by third parties'.

As if that matters.

`Copyright` is simply an idea, not ethical truth or a human right.

Prince is curious to know ( Prince Interview ) what is the difference in how he expresses himself with guitar verses how he expresses himself with piano. Can you explain it to him?

I have to think about it, but the most obvious to me is the freedom he has to move while playing the guitar. There's more of him to see which makes it seem more emotional.

“With the piano it is more naked, more pure. You can see exactly what you get.” says Prince

I don't know if it's because he learned on piano, or what, but I found his piano performances much more expressive and improvisational compared to the structure of the songs he originally penned. VERY interesting fresh takes of songs that he has done countless times throughout his life. I think it also has something to do with the absence of other instruments, as his piano and singing is filling in for rhythm and chordal harmony. I absolutely adored this.

Me too. smile I want to say I completely understand what he's saying about the piano being a more naked/pure expression. He knows best. But then I listen to Wouldn't You Love To Love Me acoustic guitar, and I think it's not the piano nor the guitar that's more expressive, it's just him minute by minute.

He did record them - when people went on the studio tours last Friday and Saturday, someone was mixing the audio notionally for release.

.

I personally heard them mixing Purple Rain from the 2nd show.

.

When asked if they'd come out, his assistant indicated that it was "something they were looking at".

[Edited 1/27/16 8:07am]

"Something they were looking at"

Translation: "Don't hold your breath."

I wonder how many times in the last 30 years, a studio engineer has worked on something for days, and not have it see the light of day.

So both shows have been recorded and are circulating? There's those of us who never have had the right opportunity to see prince live. Just curious as to how it went
