AUTOMATIC...sounds so sleazy

Automatic the song is about as sleazy as it gets. The keyboard and the moaning sound with the women. Even the guitar solo...

and I LOVE IT!

Ha!!!!!!!!!!!!

Other sleazy songs: Tick, Tick Bang . International Lover.

For some reason Darling Nikki doesn't sound that sleazy to me. I don't know.

Also, is it just me or does anyone else get nauseas when Prince hits the one guitar note on Lady Cab Driver? The guitar note sounds real watery to me.

Don't mind me. Just tripping the Power Fantastic through some earl 80's tunes.

It turns me on. Same with Lady Cab Driver when he's doing the whole "this/that is for" deal. I love the girl moaning and his tone, lol.

"Why is it that I think we'd be so good in bed?
Can U hear me? Why do I love U so much?
It's strange, I'm more comfortable around U when I'm naked,
Can U hear me?"

"There's no 1 else like me
I'm the best you'll ever find
No 1 else could understand U, you're 2 complex
They say nothing's perfect, but they don't know U"
you can do anything

Saw it a year ago. Nowadays, it's harder to track down than the holy grail confused

In this song, he gives us that crazy bass pluck line. The one that comes in during the first chorus. Do you know which I mean? It's so brutal in headphones. It's like a whip to your ear. It's like one tone at a time over and over.

THAT'S MY SONG, BABY!!!!!

"Why is it that I think we'd be so good in bed?
Can U hear me? Why do I love U so much?
It's strange, I'm more comfortable around U when I'm naked,
Can U hear me?"

I miss those long extended Prince songs that grip you and don't let you go til the final note.

It's great at the gym, at the clubs, biking, gardening, even grooving between the sheets — even Erotic City fails where Automatic succeeds.

"1999" 4eva: The album just slays me, and AUTOMATIC can stay on repeat! smile

The title track is definitely clever and very cool, but for me AUTOMATIC is a large part of what makes this such a beast project for me: the combined ritualistic beat, dancing bass line, wailing guitars & vocals, synth tones leaping and gliding like angels and demons in combat evillol demon evilking bawl oral pray beg angel cloud9 , and lyrical patter of devout adoration. I do like it so. I do. Sleazy, greasy, electro-psychodelica! razz

I wonder what other music could have influenced its conception, and how many other bands have been inspired by this piece of work? Didn't Trent Reznor also get a high off of Automatic? I've seen people on the Org tempt to compare Prince with NIN, and this is the part of his oevure that would prompt such notion, I think. Don't U all wonder what other bands have shaped their music around this sound? wink

In the book of "good taste and decency"?

Sorry, but sexy will always be associated with youth.
I know it's hard, but that's what the metaphor of flowers is for...
I do find it harder to look in the mirror with every year passing by too.
But I'm not going to use nowadays Prince to project my younger self to.

I don't mind Youporn has an old-timers category, but that ain't gonna be my treat.

^ To make my point clearer, would you have Prince do the "Head" 1986 live stage moves and moans TODAY?

That would make me laugh out loud and be hilarious! If he wouldn't mind me laughin', I wouldn't mind him doing that on stage. Heck, he could even have the age of his women dancers cover a spread. Shoot, I don't mind!
