Totally agree. Susan and Brenda both deserve their own praise as legitimate beauties, but especially Brenda as she was by far the strongest singer in V6/A6. Plus she has that powerful, sultry voice that really did justice to Prince's songs. She looked like she was a tough cookie to.

There is definately a story there.
Prince said the same thing and was going to work further with her in the camp, but he got to wrapped up in so many other things, that she was left waiting.
but that is a story for Apollonia 6

I remember in the summer of '83 when I first heard that Vanity had left the group.I was so angry! Here was this amazing, revolutionary concept and the leader walks away when they're just starting.I wanted a second album and I wanted to see them get bigger and more popular.

That would have been frustrating. Even discovering them WAY after the fact, it is frustrating to have a couple six song albums from V6 and A6.

I'm changing the lyrics from the male 2 the female perspective
OUTTAKE NO CALL U
Boy, I'm goin' crazy, I'm lonely and I need your kiss
OUTTAKE No Call U is an unreleased song recorded in early 1982 at Prince's Kiowa Trail Home Studio, Chanhassen, MN, USA. The song is a fast rockabilly-style song in the vein of Jack U Off and Turn It Up. It is not known if it was intended for Prince's next album (which became 1999) or any other project. Vocals were also recorded by Vanity 6 for the track in 1982, although it was not included on any known configuration of the Vanity 6 album. Jill Jones also recorded lead vocal overdubs, most likely in 1985 (probably at either Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA, USA or Crosstown Circle Warehouse, Eden Prairie, MN, USA), but the track was not included on any known configuration of the Jill Jones album. It remains unreleased. -PrinceVault

"No Call U" is a good song, but I don't think it would have worked well on the Vanity 6 album. However, the song "Turn It Up" might have been a good choice for their album.Wasn't that song rumored to be an outtake from their album, too?

What is that hanging down between her legs? I've noticed that Vanity loved to wear different belts on her teddy, and that looks like a metal end tip on a wrap around belt that you tie and the ends hang down. What?

I know the metal tip thing you're talking about.

The Vanity 6 album is great, but I've never been crazy about the last track,"3x2=6".I just don't think their voices work well on a ballad.Prince should have replaced that song with something like "Turn It Up" or "Moral Majority" (never heard it,but from the way it's been described,I'm sure it's an intriguing song, lol).

I agree it didn't work, a song like Next Time Wipe the Lipstick Off Your Collar would have worked though. Brenda Bennet was backing vocals on that one. Susannah Melvoin worked with her and Sheila on that one

This video features a party scene where alot of people are dancing at a party. There is a clown at the party with an orange wig on,prancing around. There is a rumor that the clown is Prince in disguise! Can you post a screenshot here? Big Chick also appears during this party scene.

I would C why Prince would not be in that video. But it is hard to tell.

I wonder if this party scene inspired his 1985 Masquerade Ball...

Big Chick is in the video and in those days,he was everywhere that Prince went.....so I think the "clown" in the video really is Prince!
