Remember when u thought u would never live 2 c the dawn that Prince would let someone else produce him?

Let alone an unproven, unqualified producer. I guess you have to be an original fan from day one to get the full intended levity of my question as it calls for an amount and degree of perspective on a muscial career and legacy like no other.

considering hes always been experimental and took chances, having someone else produce him is a big chance and experiment. so no... i never really thought it couldnt happen.

I don't understand you. Lets' agree to disagree.. cool

I love Phase 1.... and Art Official Age as well = 2 Good albums imho.

Still I can't say that about Phase 2, what an complete ugly boooring album.. damn!

Yuck.. I can't believe Prince has made that shit... doody eek

I am having yet another Prince crisis. But of course 1978-1995 is fantastic, all those classics.

I will never be tired of those. But Phase 2 is just...... absolutely...... terrible..... sad

Why do you freak out so bad when Prince releases something you don't like? You just said the two albums before HNR phase 2 were good. What is there to be in crisis about? Prince is such a prolific artist it's obvious that he'll release something you like again.

^ Ok Gohi, you are right.... thanks.. actually... maybe I am overreacting, being too sensitive..

I am just disappointed at the moment (because of Phase 2). A little tired also.. maybe I shouldn't express what I feel, a break away from here could be more healthy for me.. thanks.. anyway for your comment.. cool.. I guess you are right.

I'd say there's enough going on for anyone who has appreciated Prince's output over the last 15 years to find something to like in his last four releases. I think it's LESS likely that anyone would love ALL of it.

For thedance - you've got two albums released in the last 15 months that you love (AOA and Phase 1). For me, there's been one album on the last two WEEKS that I love (Phase 2) and elements from AOA that I loved (some notsomuch) but an album in the last 4 months that I thought was garbage (Phase 1).

Quantity has sometimes meant quality for Prince and that's ok. It's all different, so if you like the man who's been making music in the 2000s then there's at least an album and a half of music to love since September 2014. Not a bad run.

I do remember, LOL. And Phase 1 was proof that Prince was right about producing himself all those years!

I would argue that Way Back Home alone makes the experiment worth it.

The cracks in your intellect are showing.

And I am still more intelligent on my worse day than you are on your best. So what does that mean - if anything?

A good rule of thumb: Feeling the need to regularly point out your genius tends to indicate that you don't fit the bill.

He was right in the sense that letting a first time amateur prodcucer like Josh Welton produce your album is going to result in a turd. Prince is so stupidly talented that I can only imagine what the result would be if he let someone equally talented in prodcuing produce an album with him.

I got two sides... and they're both friends.

You brought up my genius when you attacked me. Who are you? You are nobody. You know what you can do with your thumb - and your rule.

YOU bring it up in nearly every post you make -- usually to suggest that your intelligence makes whatever bullshit you're spouting at that moment more valid than the opinions of anyone who disagrees with you. It's tiring and transparent, even more so than your compulsive need to a bash Joshua.

I "attacked" you today because your original post is even easier to see through than usual - and includes typos, poor sentence structure and redundant phrasing, hardly the sort of thing one would expect from a genius like yourself.

At least Prince still had enough sense to release Phase One (aka SHITNRUNS) quietly on Tidal and only later on other formats. It's like sneaking into the other room to let off a nasty fart.

ok sparky - you win whatever it is you think it is that you are winning. That much fabricated concern with me from a complete stranger is approaching stalker proportions and has gone from disturbing to just sad. Get some help.
