Plectrumelectrum is great

Yes. You heard it. Great album, i needed to listen to something more organic than HITNRUN and gave this another try, the first song WOW is sooooo good. Then PlectrumElectrum, Fixurlifeup, Another Love, FunkNRoll, Tic Tac Toe (i don't know, there's something i enjoy about that one).

Some of the most remarkable Prince records of the last decade. Yes, i agree it has some filler, but the best songs here are amazing.

Plec got a major label release and marketing budget. Nobody bought it. The press said it was crap. Yet Naysayers are the problem.....

I bought it, the day it was released...

Another love,& fix ur life up were the only high
points to me. a disappointment. But..

i also bought art official age the same day and was very happy
with that project.

in all i liked the whole experience listening to them back to back
while smokin a couple jays. After his long absence from releasing albums.

Was off the charts in the 3rd week. Sold less than N.E.W.S.

You have to adjust sales for this day. Let's say it sold 40,000 copies in US. That's more than N.E.W.S sold back in the day. AOA and PE sales were good enough to get two albums in the Top 10 in the same week.

... and dropping off the chart in only the 3rd week... do we have to adjust that to this day to? lol lol

yes ,they do exist but are not a problem. They just don't like what they don't like. Others like what they like. And critics fiddle along to the sales numbers until their final rest.

I love

WOW

ANOTHERLOVE

FIXURLIFEUP

FUNKNROLL

MARZ

PLECTRUMELECTRUM

PRETZELBODYLOGIC

Thats 7 outstanding track to me so I think its a strong album. It gets overshadowed by the lackluster Hannah tracks but those 7 are strong!! Any album with 7 strong tracks is ok in my book!! These can go with the best rockers Prince has done

The music is great...but the lyrics and too much drummerbarbie give this album a juvenile quality hello kitty teenage feel thats just...no.

.

The music is the kind of mediocre shite any decent band comes up with during a rehearsal.

I agree when it first came out I admit playing Plectrum more than Art Official Age. It was just more exciting and loud.

The song "PlectrumElectrum" is too long, imo. It gets too repetitive and always has me reaching for the skip-button.

Of course you are right, I love the album too. I actually saw Donna up here at LAX (I work there) and didn't say anything to her, she was sitting waiting for her flight all by herself to MSP. I didn't think it was her but then I said to myself who else has half their head shaved, and would be traveling to Minnesota with a guitar. I actually got back on the employee bus in the parking lot went back to the terminal to meet her but she was gone. I could kick myself for not saying something to her. Damn it!!!

^She actually had a guitar with her as hand luggage? That would be a nice way to kill time when you're waiting for your flight...
