no it's not the same. less guitars and an extra verse

They are the same. All guitars, no extra verses. The only difference is the EQ and some slight limiting on the album version. Otherwise, same mix.

Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

This track is cool on its own, to me it seems out of place on this record but it looks like I'm adjusting because I like it when it comes on. The effect is that the album suddenly becomes very rock n roll -- a lot of compressed energy in this little track.

i don't mind it on this album. seems like i really love two of the 'tracks that fell between the cracks'
in "screwdriver" and "RocknRoll LoveAffair".

i'd made my own playlist of non album tracks from the last few years and it opened with RNR and
Screwdriver. always loved these two tracks.

so for them to feature on this album already makes me accept screwdriver when it comes on even
if it doesn't fit in with the rest of the disc 100%.

but that's really quite a good thing imo. it breaks up the second half of the album a bit. shakes it
up. otherwise it would end up feeling like the second half of AOA where there is just too much of
the same stuff happening. all good and cool, but a bit too much without anything to give you a bit
of a slap and say 'yo, keep up'.

I don't know why people think this doesn't fit? It's typical of Prince to have diverse group of songs.
What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

Because the rest of the song share a funk/rnb vibe then this garage rock comes on. Maybe if there was another rock-ish song, but anyway it's a small matter on a great album plus the song is cool.

Hmm, I didn't give this track a fair chance. I quite like the music, more so than whatever version I heard before. confuse The "I'm your driver, you're my screw" line is still cringe-worthy, though.

I feel you. That's exactly my take. Same with the opening line to the new xtraloveable. Hey sugah.

So so bad Lol
