Prince listens and simply releases the album to stream and/or download without fuss and most of you still complain?

Revelation is worth the price of admission alone.

Yes. Because I remember the days when Prince albums DID create a fuss.

i'm also not sure if you actually have to pay for HNR1 anymore.

i paid 14 euro's for both albums in 1 pack. i just figured they'd
thrown in HNR1 for free since they're a sort of double pack now
and most people already bought or streamed it anyway.

ah, i see now that most other albums are 8,99 or 9,99 or 10,99

so i guess it's a bit weird to package part 1 & 2 together now as
most of us already have it.

however, those buying the whole thing first time now, get it for
a nice discount at 14,99 for both.

i don't really care. 4 euro's. i can deal with that today.

Maybe a stupid question but - If you buy it from Tidal is it easy enough put it into your iTunes?
.
I bought Phase One from iTunes (even tho I already had it) so I'm not keen on paying for it again

I will never pay for Phase One. But Phase Two seems to be better. So give me a physical release if you want my money, dear Prince.

i don't know. i just bought the mp3 version, it downloaded the files in no time into my
download folder and i just imported them into my itunes player. no problems there smile

Personally, I'll wait for the iTune download, easier to select just the ones I don't have.

(I bet it will be there in two or three weeks)

As for the CDs -- that's maybe once I'm sure there's no phase 3, then I'll probably get all HnRs.

I've stayed with Tidal because I can afford it, like the sound quality and the vast selection of artists and tracks.

Always a very nice surprise to wake up to new Prince music.

Especially a few new tracks that are stellar including Black Muse, Revelation and When She Comes

Plus we finally get a track with an accordion on it! Niiiiiice wink

Also very cool to finally hear all these tracks finally get a proper release after all these years but makes the entire thing a bit stale tasting...but who cares its almost 2016 and Prince is still making music! How lucky are we!

Thanks for the ride Prince!

The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

well what's stopping you, you've got all the tracks, just make a playlist biggrin

i personally can't wait until we get a phase 3 and then i'm going to make
a playlist of about 36 tracks spanning from 2010-2015 that will rival the

3 disc 'the dawn' set. because he's released some stellar tunes these last

years but they've usually been surrounded by a bit of fluff smile

I know I'm not the first to mention this, but I'm hoping that Prince or one of his crew reads this, or someone on here tweets them (as I am most definitely not on twitter), but I listened to it this morning in the car through my (third) free Tidal subscription, and came home with every intention of buying the FLAC version from the store...I had even decided that I would pay up to $17.99 which to me is an insanely high price for an album these days, but what the hell.

But then to see that its almost $30? And basically I'm paying for Phase 1 again? I already signed up for Tidal, and bought 2 CD versions of that album. Not interested in being forced to purchase it again. That's a very poor decision on Prince's part, as I can't be the only person who would buy just Phase 2.

By the time he gives that option, I will have already downloaded the pirated FLAC files and moved on with my life.

Anyway.

As far as the music goes, I really love it, and it was unexpected, and that's a plus too. Especially loving Black Muse (which sounds like a Rainbow Children outtake, as an old orger friend stated on Facebook this morning) and can't stop singing Groovy Potential. True, I also bought that one from the 3rdeyetunes website years ago, but sometimes those random tracks get lost in the cracks with me, and this was one that I apparently didn't fully appreciate at the time.

Wow, this release is really good and will require more listens before I have a conclusion. This is the album that Hard Rock Lover belonged on but we got even better songs on this release anyway. Revelation...wow...but anyway as a whole this album works very well. We have had a handful of these tracks already but it is nice to have a proper home for them now, with some added tracks that go well with the others. Really in love with Black Muse and Revelation right now. Floored by these two tracks....very happy Groovy Potential is on here now as well, that has been a hidden classic for a while.

Album plays and love for vinyl records.

I thought Revelation and Big City would be the highlights of this release, but right now the title goes to Black Muse - It's an amazing tune. Also, the potential impact of this album os hugely underminde by the fac that we've had a few of the songs for a long time. If I hadn't heard Groovy Potential and Xtraloveable before I'd be calling this Prince's best album since The Rainbow Children...

(in my playlist though Baltimore is going, Free Urself is in; and If I Could Get Yout Attention will follow either Screwdriver or RnRLA)

Rival The Dawn set - that's a bold statement Isten!
.
I agree there has been a lot of strong material the last couple of years that will make up a great playlist.
.
Got to say he's still full of surprises - he was talking about Phase 2 being in WB hands the other day then it turns up on Tidal today out the blue.
.
Aside from the previously released tracks we all have I'm really liking the unreleased stuff like Revelation, Look At Me Look At U, When She Comes and Black Muse
