Purple Rain is an excellent album

last week i was in a used record store looking for rare albums and i came across an album by Prince that i had never heard of before called Purple Rain (it's the one with the motorbike on the cover)

it's very exciting when you can find a rare gem like this...i had thought Prince's debut album was called "Musicology" but i looked at the back of the Purple Rain album and it states 1984! and i could not believe my eyes that he was around that long..but anyway i recommend this album for all fans who have not heard it...it may be hard to track down but maybe you will be lucky and find it in a used to record store

Seems like you have a LOT of listening to do, my friend! But that's cool, it will be a great musical trip. And that Purple Rain is an excellent album isprobably the only thing everybody here agrees about!

I checked the calendar and we're months away from April 1st.

Purple Rain is his biggest selling record ever and there's a hit movie too, being unaware of that is like being into Michael Jackson but unaware of Thriller. If you're not pulling our leg, happy discovery because you're in for a treat if you know next to nothing about Prince's discography.

Not sure how old you are, however you are listening to his most popular record he has recorded. 13 Million dollars in sales to be exact.

You are funny.

Purple Rain is miles ahead of Thriller.

Thriller is 3 or 4 great songs.

Purple Rain is a piece of art from beginning to the end.

Thriller is perfect, just as Purple Rain although the latter is more 'avant-garde (purple)'.

Anyway, Georgie, if you're into Prince you should really check out Dutch icon Marco Borsato.
He is one funky mutha and plays his six-string like a G-string.

No, it's shite, try "Kamasutra" instead. That album is Prince at his best, it sounds just like Mozart and Beethoven but then with synthesizers. That album proves that Prince really is a genius!

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

That's too bad Georgie!

I think you should hook up with KCool, she can mentor you in all things Prince.
She even has some of his used undies, it is rumored, which you can sniff while lying down

and listening to that aural orgasm called Kamasutra, which Funkaholic mentioned...
