That song and the Batman soundtrack is funky!

The Orbit remix is also cool. Batman has some real underrated high points...Vicki Waiting is brilliant.

It shares the same beat technique as "Good Love". I bet they were recorded close in time.

Even more similar to the outtake The LINE (1988)

It has always been my favorite from the Batman soundtrack.

When I first heard it, to me it felt like who things might have seemed to be in Prince's life/camp at the time, it did have a apocolyptic, darker/colder/lonely feel to it sorta like Sign o the Times.
Things again were changed up. But this time all that remaind of his 1980 music community was Dr Fink Miko & Levi and the first two would be gone in a years time...

Love it. It's like a funky engine that just won't stop.

What struck me was that the whole album received so much criticism when it was released, but it's an absolute joy to listen to compared to Prince's last 5 releases or so. It makes clear how far downhill the music has gone since then.

thumbs up!

And "The Future". Love it for its somber mood, and the enigmatic lyrics.

It was released as a single in Europe with Electric Chair as the B Side....didn't chart that great though.

I thouhgt it did pretty well in the Dutch charts.

It peaked at number 9, which is pretty good for a 5th single.

How beautiful do the words have to B, before they conquer every heart

The opening track of the Tour...

What about the lyrics?

Has reality changed so they do not fit anymore?

One of my favorites, together with Vicky Waiting. Stone cold classics, in my opinion.

I've seen the future and it will be
I've seen the future and it works
And if there's life after, we will see
So I can't go like a jerk

Systematic overthrow of the underclass
Hollywood conjures images of the past
New world needs spiritually
That will last
I've seen the future and it will be

I've seen the future and it will be
I've seen the future and it works
And if there's life after, we will see
So I can't go like a jerk

Yellow Smiley offers me X
Like he's drinking seven up
I would rather drink 6 razor blades
Razor blades from a paper cup
He can't understand, I say 2 tough
It's just that I've seen the future
And boy it's rough

I've seen the future and it will be
I've seen the future and it works
And if there's life after, we will see
So U can't go like a jerk
No, no

I've seen the future and it will be
Wait a minute

Pretty pony standing on the avenue
Flashin' a loaded pistol, 2 dumb 2 be true
Somebody told him playin' cops and robbers was cool
Would our rap have been different if we only knew?

I've seen the future and it will be
I've seen the future and it works
If there's life after, we will see
Don't go out like a jerk

Systematic overthrow of the underclass
Hollywood conjures images of the past
New world needs spiritually
That will last
I've seen the future and it will be
I've seen the future and it will be
I've seen the future and it will be

Talk of this album always makes me long for the Rave 1989 album or a seperate full on album promoted with videos tours concept etc

The Future
Electric Chair
Dance With the Devil
Me Touch Myself
Fuschia Light
Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic

Still Would Stand All Time
God is Alive

The Voice Inside

The Line

it's the first P song I ever heard. Finding out that you could perform better stunts on an Amiga Batmobile vs a Amstrad Batmobile? Now that's priceless.

Or freely available at a car fire boot sale!!

oh stop it with your astrology balls - the wolves were bred with lizards so their heads would get smaller , yet look cute when attached to trees.
