HITNRUN physical CD artwork - pictures

While I haven't been an outspoken supporter of this album, I did order a physical copy on CD and hadn't seen photos posted, so here you go. It does come with a lyric booklet. The round-afro printing on the disk is actually a nice touch.

.

The lyric booklet is just alternating blue and brown pages with type only. No additional photos.

.

Joshua Welton - all instruments except lead, rhythm and bass guitar.

.

Horns credited to The Hornheadz for Million $ Show and Fallinlove2nite.

.

Strings on Million $ Show and Fallinlove2nite by Stringenius

.

Honrns on Like a Mack: NPG Hornz

.

Lead guitar on Ain't About 2 Stop by Donna Gratis

.

Background vocals on Ain't About 2 Stop by 3rdEyeGirl

.

Cover illustration by Martin Homent

EDIT: Fixed images

BTW, purchased on Amazon US, shipped for $13.98 using Prime. Ordered Saturday 9/12, arrived Wednesday 9/16.

. Also, lyrics for Like A Mack are puzzlingly omitted. All the lyric book lists is "What U supposed 2 think in a club-full-o-thots?"

Universal?

Universal and its labels distributed this, as far as I know. Although apparently it only states NPG records on the album.

Ah right. I'd imagine they're not involved in the proof-reading part of the process, although it sounds like no one was...

Moreover, the original Amazon listing (before they changed it) revealed the CD was being distributed (uncredited on CD except for the UMG sticky tape across the top of U.S. copies) by Jay-Z's Roc Nation through their global distribution deal with Universal. (screenshot of original Amazon U.S. listing from Twitter)

I think that all instruments thing is a little fib. There's definitely some keyboard lines that only seem very Princely that seem added on top in a few moments here and there.

Sobthese r the extra lyrics for the extended version on phase 2 that @Prince3EG alluded too?

Sorry dude...could you rephrase the question?

.

The only lyrics in the book are from the Phase One release, with the exception of Like A Mack, which has none of the lyrics listed at all.

.

Full of some amatuer mistakes...like the song is titled THIS COULD B US but all the lyrics right below it are "This could be us" (spelled out "be").

.

If you're going to go with Princebonics, commit to it hard.

It's standard issue on most U.S. releases, nothing to do with Prince.

The lyrics pictured include ShutThisDown. I listened to the track while I read them and there are lyrics in the booklet that aren't in the song. I listened to the track while reading the lyrics in the picture because @Prince3EG had tweeted a reply to a tweet asking why the extra lyrics and I don't have a physical copy yet. @Prince3EG's reply was summin about a remix or another version of the song(presumably imo, on phase 2). I believe the tweet has been deleted, but I specifically remember seeing it.

BTW...to make u happy...I avoided all princebonics aside from the twitter handle. Lol. On my shitty phone keyboard...sometimes 1 letter is easier than typing a whole word.

They always have been. The hirnheadz r an older group. They have an independently made and released CD and consist of certain people. The NPG Hirnz are a different group of people not including the hornheadz and were assembled quite recently compared to the hornheadz.

Confusion comes from the fact that the Hornheads were originally called the NPG Hornz circa 92-93 until Michael B Nelson turned them into an independant faction and redubbed them Hornheads.

When Prince took on a new horn section in I think 2011 or 2012, he dubbed them NPG Horns again, but in the studio he keeps working mostly with the vastly superior (IMHO) Hornheads.

Starts after 'I'm gonna get u where u never been got' and before the 'what you waiting for' bit that mentions 'purple mack baby'

...All sweaty and hot
I'm gonna get u where u never get got
[Beginning if new part]
If you got my ????
I got your ???
I don't think u understand
We gonna do this man

Gonna shut this down
We ain't playing around

U got that ???? Crew??
Come on pretty?
We gotta do the do
Lemme do what we do
We come to shut this down
My hand is money
My ice is cold
Whatever u holdin
U better fold

Cus when we drop this
All around the world
When we come to town
We come to shut this down
[End of new part]

Whatcha waiting for baby
Get out on the floor...

The ????'s are there cuz I can't make out all the words in the pic.

Sorry - my comment about "commit to Princebonics hard" was directed at the mistake in the lyric book ("be" vs. "b") not at you.

.

I guess this shows my level of love for the album - I have not listened to it with the lyric book handy to compare and didn't realize that the book and the song differ.

.

I've got the CD in my car and will have to come back here and transcribe the different lyrics for you since they're difficult to make out in the photos.

.

I really hope there aren't remixes of this thing. Isn't this chocolate mess one big remix show as it is? If there's one song on this disc that needs a remix it's....none of them.

Bold fills in BobGeorge909's questionmarks, after reviewing the book:

.

...All sweaty and hot

I'm gonna get u where u never get got
[Beginning of new part]
If you got my jelly
I got your jam
I don't think u understand
We gonna do this man

Gonna shut this down
We ain't playing around

U gotta that crew [sic - that's how it reads and it makes no sense]
Come on pretty [correct]
We gotta do the do
Lemme do what we do
We come to shut this down
My hand is money
My ice is cold
Whatever u holdin
U better fold

Cus when we drop this
All around the world
When we come to town
We come to shut this down
[End of new part]

More proof this is just Prince's rockstar vanity project. He let the kids play in his sandbox. He's like Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino. Nothing about this project is a Prince album. Not the artwork, the music, nothing.
