Is there a clue in the title "Hit N Run" we may have missed

When I heard what the title of this new release was going to be, I thought, hmmm, what is his thing with using this "Hit N Run" name so frequently? But then as I read more about this release it hit me, whenever he calls a tour the "Hit N Run" tour, it usually seems thrown together. I recall going to a few of the shows called this several years ago and to me it screamed, " I need some quick cash, let's tour"!! These shows were certainly not up to the standards I had seen in the past. Often times he would leave the stage and let Najee go on and on.... Now, the last tour, I beleieve in Europe, that used this name seemed to certainly have mixed reviews from attendees as well as reports of venues not being up to par, sound issues at times, etc. Now, if you had a great experience at one of these shows then I am certainly happy for you but maybe I just attribute this name given to Prince projects as something thrown together. I dunno, maybe I am way off base, would't be the first time!!

Regardless, it just seems weird that he continues to recycle this name/title. No biggie, just seems to lack creativity from someone who has always been VERY creative.

That title dates back to 1986.

I actually thought it might refer to the release strategy. One album on Tidal, the next on Spotify, the next on Apple, the next on Google, etc, etc. And he'd put the best one on the service he likes most. I don't know which one that would be, other than it obviously aint Tidal.

I say you were pretty much right because Prince's HitNRuns always seem to me to be his way of articulating, "I need some quick cash. Let me hit my

with a little something close to nothing and run." wink lol

I had to seriously force myself to be like...

The infuriating thing is, it doesn't have to be that way because if he'd just give me what I really want. NUMEROUS BETTER THAN BOOTLEG QUALITY VIDEOS of his FULL CONCERTS FROM 1980 - 1989. I'd extremely HAPPILY be like...

RIGHT NOW! hammer

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

There are 5 versions of Prince on Tidal in the Hitnrun artwork (including the Purple Rain album cover).

He did a "strictly business" deal with Warner Bros to get his masters back and has released a couple of remakes on Phase One.

Maybe he's going back in time to release 5 albums of remakes / new songs? One can only hope :p

This seems more likely to me. The Hit N Run tours that he's done since '86 usually involve short notice, unexpected shows rather than a long-planned out tour itinerary.

Not dead, not in prison, still funkin'...
