Should Prince be promoting The Slaughterhouse, The Chocolate Invasion

Should Prince be promoting The Slaughterhouse, The Chocolate Invasion, Xpectation, and C-NOTE?

This is the first time in 10 years that they've been available from an official source and the first time from a non-Prince website. That's a great narrative. A single or 2 can be pushed heavily to radio stations, a video released, plus billboards.

Silicon would be a great single. It's unique and catchy. It would fit into current R&B stations, without chasing trends, and perhaps even more mature R&B and pop stations. An edit down to about 3 minutes would be needed. Peace and Underneath the Cream are also good options, with radio edits.

X and C-NOTE could be pushed in the jazz press or radio stations, although they'll likely get less traction.

Prince claims not to live in the past, so his promoting NPGMC albums is as likely as him promoting "Newpower Soul" right about now.

Of course he abandoned promotion of then-new AOA shortly after release, too.

Skeptical of how long the HITNRUN Era will last.

Unless they're being remastered and getting a proper rerelease with bonus tracks, I don't see how nor why old albums should be promoted now. They've had their time. Now it's Hitnrun nod

No. He should promote his new work. However, he could promote the larger body of rarities he's putting on Tidal. As a whole, it's compelling.

They got fuck all promotion at the time bar a couple of meagerly available cd singles sold at shows, why should he bother to promote them now?

I would love to get that NPGMC feel again, a monthly dose of new tunes (even though one could argue those songs in 1999 sucked). Regardless, it was fun.

Hmmm, that's a resounding "no." Looks like I'm definitely in the minority on this one.
