can't wait and trying my best to ignore all the 'fan' comments who have dismissed it without hearing it - of course this comes with every move he has made for years - I say get over it , this has been the music he sees fit to release, more to add to my collection and to add to the legacy he has decided for himself - as an artist, that is his choice alone

love hardrocklover, this could b us remix , that was my favourite on AOA when I 1st listened to it and now like the new mix a lot

was sad to see fallinlove2nite on the tracklist , liked the song originally and hope it is a new mix - if not , a new tune would have been better

regarding tidal, I signed up for the month free trial , why not, yes a different way of getting new music - but to be honest it was more of a shock going to the newsagent to buy a paper , milk and eggs and get the new cd 20Ten - that felt kinda sad

Do we know what time it will be available for stream? Will it be midnight in every area or a time like 9am gmt so everyone gets it on the same day?

I did email tidal support but they sent a generic answer about how to request new music. Yeah, cheers guys!
RIP sad

The countdown clock was fan made, I think it's pretty unlikely that the album will be available the second that countdown ends. Could be before, could be after, but this will do for a general idea, lol.

Glad we don't have to join Tidal and a physical release will come soon. But this will be the first Prince album that I can wait for. No offense to him and Josh but they may as well be some independent Christian rock/r&b artists that nobody ever heard of. They seem to be having a great time though so at then end of the day that is all that matters really.

I am excited and joined for the free trial yesterday.

First thing I did was listen to ultra-familiar music like Kind of Blue, British electro-pop from the Eighties, a little Cowboy Junkies, preferably remastered versions of anything familiar to my ears and I have to say the sound is really good and the selection is decent.

My only problem is that it is expensive. I don't spend $30 a month on music, I buy like one album every two months, I already have tons of CDs so it takes something speciall to catch my attention. If I had the same buying habits I had 10 years ago I'd probably go for it as the sound seems really close to that of a CD.

I might stay until all the "phases" are available, as I suspect he'll have that streaming-first model for the others and I really enjoy what Tidal has to offer anyway though if I end up liking streakming that much, I would try to pick something less expensive though that would destroy my feeling that I'm hearing CD-quality audio.

The haterz invasion starts tomorrow. This album is going to give them so much to complain about...let me grab some popcorn and watch the usual suspects go bananas...

Most of the haterz on the org are just middle aged people that are too nostalgic of the Prince from the 80's.

It won't be that interesting as it always boils down to one of the five reactions below::

"As expected, Prince delivers another cringe-worthy excuse for an album...or should I say he hired someone to make slightly better bullshit than he can manage to do himself these days?"

"I'm not going to buy it because I don't like his post-Lovesexy output and I'll stumble on a bit Torrent source soon OR if I can get it as a physical CD later, I won't even unseal it and keep it to sell to some desperate soul in a couple of years."

"JHC I just listened to it on Tidal/thanks to the generosity of a good friend and this sounds like roboticized Prince music for the eventual 3d Prince hologram Prince will be using in a couple of years instead of giving live concerts."

"My heartfelt admiration goes to those courageous fans that went and subjected themselves to this record to give us an idea of what lurks in its entrails so that the rest of us may be spared."

"Further proof that Prince is a lazy has-been that only cares about making money. And now you can't even say he makes nice coasters."

There are ways to rip things from an iPod so I'm sure there must be a way to rip downloads from tidal. Got a month to figure out how too! And there's some good stuff on there I'll concede.

Nonsense, different/ critical opinions is not necessary "hate"

For instance i really like the pop song FallInLove2Nite,

I am 1 of the old fans, but imo far from a hater, it's just a fact that most albums post The Gold Experience are very "mixed" in "quality", with lots of "goods and bads".

I really liked AOA, therefor I will give the new album a fair chance when the CD arrives, in who no's how many days...? smile

I think there will be a few good songs on HITNRUN. I like the snippet of Shut this down and the remix of This could be us is ok, but X's face, Hardrocklover and Fallinlove2nite are skippers. smile

When the TBCU remix launched on Tidal, it was ripped within minutes of being available and the links were being shared. Stream ripping isn't too difficult. There's dozens of programs that do it.

Why pay $25 when you can get the cd for less?

I see no sticky cd thread so here it is.

This was entirely unnecessary dear -- everyone knows you're nuanced in your opinions, you could never be seen as a hater.

I like some of what we've heard so far, but dislike other stuff. I'm ready to hear the rest of the songs tomorrow, and to consider everything in the context of an album. My primary metric is whether my 4-month-old daughter likes it. :)

Regardless, thank god we didn't wait another 4 years for the next album.

I know but I have very varied tastes in music and am listening to a collection of near cd quality records that I could never take the time to assemble myself to carry around, so it's about more than Prince music for me -- too bad it costs so much.

It's funny how you guys are getting so riled up about other peoples opinions. If you like it, then why should it concern you if others don't? BTW, i'm 20 years old, own ALL of Prince's albums, and judging on what i've heard so far i'm not feeling the tracks, so i'm guessing your description of the term "hater" (something a teen would say) doesn't apply...

Back on topic: Will listen to on day 1, if I like it, will wait for physical release and buy (hopefully there's a vinyl release cool )

Yep. Beats are the equivalent of those shitty overpriced MONSTER cables. Too much bass, low midrange, no highs. For almost the same price or half, you could get good audiophile headbhones that blow Beats out of the water, like Sennheiser HD 598's (the ones I have) and AT M50x's.

Yeah but check out KCool's uncle at the listening party in his living room.
