Gorgeous song. And stated in the article for all the emotion she brings to it while the music is restrained and beautiful. It's why I love her version so much. I have never cared for the way Prince renders his own song. His take is busy and emotionally unconvincing.

Agree to disagree. Her version is way too melancholy for me. Not to be funny at all, but she sounds unstable. I'd be scared to leave her alone. I've heard him sing it live several times and have enjoyed it every time; it sounds more like a love song inviting someone back into his life, not like he might hurt himself.

That's precisely why her take is perfect.

Again, agree to disagree. But, if haunting is what she was going for, she nailed it.

I love both Family version WAAAAY better than the OConner cover or even Prince's
I love the pre-Paradish arrangement still with that Purple Rain kick but I love the simplicity of the Family albums release too

It's a beautiful song regardless of who sings it, but I love the Prince and Rosie version.
