I really hope that I am wrong. I haven't heard the album like neither of us have. But have heard tcbu2015 and hardcocklover. Josh and Hannah are nice enough people. They are accomplished musicians too - maybe not groundbreaking but they know music. Why in the name of fuck then do they keep saying things are experimental? Those two songs aren't. Snippets we've heard of others that may be on it aren't. Has Prince told them to say that? They all know want experimental means. They're musicians - so why keep saying it.

Anyway. Pleased there is a new album coming out and look forward to that first listen. Really glad they haven't digital singled most of the songs already like hey did with pre-orders last year.

From this I understood that if I don't like it then I don't know jack boo boo.

It helps, of course, when Jay Z’s happy, too; when asked what the rapper-turned-mogul’s reaction was to hearing HITNRUN for the first time, Prince and Welton exchange an amused glance, and Welton does his best impression: arms crossed, eyes in an Eastwood squint, head nodding in satisfaction. Hova inspected, Hova approved.
What?

"Don’t worry; you’ll get your pretty bedroom ballads, too." Bad sign! So we will get the usual hodgepodge again...

To me that means Revelation is on the cd... #hope razz

I like this interview, it begins to answer some questions:

Is it Josh or is it Prince? Sometimes Prince just adds vocals. Doesn't mean it's all Josh, just that on some tracks, Prince sings and that's it.

WBR? Transparent business relationship. Like many suspected, his deal with WBR is unlikely to be the traditional kind and may just be about his WB catalog. He's still free to release music the way he has done since first leaving or in new ways, I don't see how Prince would chain himself to the label again, so ignore whoever is saying they're at each other throats. WBR expected Prince to behave like Prince.

I like what Prince says about Josh, that he values his relative lack of musical culture.

Now if someone can explain to me what Josh means when he says Prince hears in WiFi? Does he mean Hi-Fi? I would think so.

I took it to mean that he hears things that are silent to many others. But I also like your idea.

Perhaps Prince just hears WI-FI in Hi-Fi? wink

The NIN and Ministry references are interesting. Prince's musical vocabulary is amazing.

Yeah I agree. Makes me more interested to hear about what's to come. Although I kinda laughed when p said in the article that josh didn't know who NIN were. I knew about Trent even before I listened to a NIN album lol

But moonbeam levels fucked up by Josh with silly noises and stuttering on the vocals. Super experimental.

Revelation? That Bad? 😲 My guess: too many slow songs, maybe even conventionally arranged with the never ever changing prominent bass drum rhythm. HEADACHE!

By Prince's standards nowadays this definitely is super experimental! And even a tiny little bit edgy as you can see from the negative reactions here on this forum.

Problem is like I've already guessed at the beginning of the collaboration with Josh. Prince isn't that much creatively involved in the new arrangements and sounds. So it might not be this kind of inspiring collaboration it should be.

same as emancipation though isn't it? Josh is the Kirky J for 2015

I think it's mad how he keeps calling Josh really young and then you think of what Prince was doing when he was Josh's age....

Wow.....He's lost.

This is going to be such a hard album to defend....although i won't defend it, to be honest.

How about hearing it first. You don't have to defend or attack anything. All you need to do is listen and you'll like it or not. That's all there is to it.
