A Bar Drink Called Purple Rain?

A friend on Facebook, knowing that I'm a Prince fan, sent me this picture of an alcoholic drink called a Purple Rain. I don't know if it's a real drink on bar menu, but the next time I'm out with friends, I plan on ordering one! Um, Prince lawyers, I didn't make up the name and I'm not trying to infringe on copyrights or anything. Please don't sue me! Thanks!

Yep, Reflex (the 80's themed nightclub chain) have a Purple Rain cocktail too. And a Thriller one.

But if HitnRun is a huge MEGA success, don't count on it having its own drink.

They always had a Purple Rain drink at Prince night at Berlin in Chicago. I have no idea what was in it, but it was nicknamed the "brain eraser." lol

Just be sure not to confuse it with Purp, which is something else entirely...

It sucks! My sister and I made it a few years ago and could barely drink it. It's just way too sweet. Yuk!

Those ingredients do not make as pretty a shade of purple as what is pictured. They had these at the bar at the HitNRun DC show and I've tried making them before too.... they taste pretty bad and turn out ugly. <insert price is right losing horn>

...probably 'cos it lists Cranberry Juice rather than Chambord.

I've had it at a few student dives and clubs and it's always been pretty sickly, but they probably take shortcuts with the recipe in those places.
