The 57-year-old musician has completed his 38th studio LP, which will be titled 'The Hit & Run Album' in reference to his latest tour, and his backing band 3RDEYEGIRL have teased it sounds ''phenomenal''.

They said: ''It's phenomenal; there are so many hits on this album. It's super experimental.''

The 'Little Red Corvette' hitmaker released his last albums 'Art Official Age' and 'PLECTRUMELECTRUM' last September and trailed his upcoming collection by premiering new single 'Hardrocklover' online earlier this month.

And speaking about what fans can expect from the iconic musician, 3RDEYEGIRL went on to say it will please lovers of his classic albums because it features ''hit after hit''.

Speaking to radio station BBC 6 Music, the trio said: ''Super hardcore Prince fans that know every song he's ever recorded - we refer to them as 'The Purple Collective' or 'The Purple Army' - this album is absolutely for them, because it's super funky.

''It's weird, there's a lot of experimental sound. It's just hit after hit and definitely caters to those fans who just love to hear what Prince has to say, rather than wanting to always hear that classic 'Purple Rain' Prince sound.''

Err well it features songs that Prince wishes/hopes will be hits! Anyhow really looking forward to this release.

The title is odd because he's done so many Hit N Run tours it's so associated with live performance.

So maybe it's that intends to release the album and then just leave it in the past. No singles, No promotion,just move on.

When I heard that the album will have hits, I had to stop and ask myself: does Hannah know the last time Prince had a hit song? If the album has songs that are catchy that has a chance to be hits is one thing but as much as I have wanted Prince to enjoy being back on the radio with a hit song again, "MPLSOUND", "20TEN" and "AOA" didn't sell well and catch on. Hannah should pump the brakes on the hypebole.

It's NOTHING wrong with being positive and putting good vibes out in2 the universe. It's the reason is still successful and going strong in his twlight years 40 years in2 the muziq industry.

Well we have a new category with prince now dont we. Songs like Funknroll , that Prince thinks SHOULD have been a hit. And talks about them live in concert as if they were! But hell who cares, a new album is coming and us fans will buy it.

well, lets see, FNR was played regularly during NFL Thursday nbight football and also featured on Empire TV Show, not bad huh or are you going to deny that

You know what I mean, as in atop ten billboard sales single etc. I aint that bothered, im a fan and will buy album/singles like most on here

Well this is far better than waiting 4 years, like between 20ten and the PE/AOA projects. This the speed at which I want to hear new music from my favorite artist.

I hope we will hear a bit more from these snippets that we heared during the presentation of the last 2 albums.

If WBR is holding up this project for whatever reason then how is that a bad thing. Its business as usual is it not? and what P probably agreed to when he signed the dotted line. If songs need to be reworked then whats the big deal?
