Hardcore Prince fans in your life

Do you guys know other hardcore Prince fans that you interact with personally on a daily basis?

Back in the 90s, when I was still collecting bootlegs, yes, but nowadays, no. But I don't think there's a lot of hardcore Prince fans left anyway. I'm afraid we are an endangered species... sad

I've never known anyone who likes Prince. In fact I don't know many people who have even heard of him.

I know several people who think they're hardcore, but they don't even get into the boots or outtakes or associated artists or extended mixes, etc.

Nope, not at all. A couple friends are casual fans and like when I play them
a song the never heard of but thats it.

I used to go out with a hardcore fan. It was really nice.
We would trade memorbilia and stuff.

Ouch! On the other hand, I know my ranking in this community hierarchy. It's not bad blood, you're just waaaaaaay more experienced with Prince's music. cool

I am friends with hardcore fans but don't talk to them on a daily basis. I used to be close friends with hardcore fans for many years and we talked on a daily basis and I also was in 2 relationships with hardcore Prince fans one of which lasted for 17 years. When I was in the second (shorter) one I wasn't a hardcoree fan myself anymore though and it felt strange to be in a relationship with a Prince fan again because I woudn't have expected that to happen again in my life.

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Sadly, not in real life! I know a few online though.

My boyfriend kind of gets the brunt of my Prince obsession though so he probably knows more than the average fan.

That last time I knew any fellow Prince fans was 87/88 when a few classmates had "Sign o the Times" & one guy would shreek out "Hot Thing!!!" in class spontaneously

"HOT THING!!!"

I remember a girl in Psychology Class borrowing my "Lovesexy"casette.

These are the last times I had any interaction with any Prince fans-- 28/29 years ago.

In the 90s I would travel show to show and go to Paisley, i would see familiar faces. I don't really go anymore unless Prince plays nearby.

Wouldn't you say a real hardcore fan wouldn't accept buying bootlegs?

No daily interaction but I have about two friends who are into Prince quite a bit. Both are guys I (used to) make music with. They love him and have quite a bit of 80's records and 12"s. I can talk to them about Prince no prpblem, and listen maybe his latest album with them. But hardly ever do they like the new stuff. Can't blame them either, although good sometimes Prince hardly ever touches his 80's greatness with his new material.

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

There have been a couple, one whp posts here I only post to occasionally, but I belong tos everal fan pages on face book and have two close Prince friends living in Christchurch and Sydney. One is obsessed to the point of her house being purple and Prince pictures, albums, souvenirs, cups and albums everywhere. prince music plays constnatly through her speakers and I slept ina purple bed with purple sheets. the bathroom was entirely purple. She even lights purple candles on her Prince shrine. I nearly got booted out when I told her I liked Michael Jackson as well.

.

She is a great person and we get on well, we went to a Prince party together. She used to post here, but like most orgers who are not Americans, she got turned off the site quite quickly.

.

The other guy from Chch is a fan of Prince and has heaps of bootlegs and other materials, but he also lioves a normal life as well and loves music by other people as well. Still I look up to all of these people as the true Prince fans next to me. Plus I an't get too close as I feel he finds me a bit strange. Plus he does not like Michael Jackson much. I can't understand why, there is room in your life for Prince and Michael Jackson.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

No one is crazy enough to be a hardcore Prince fan except you guys.

My partner is a secret Prince fan -- he calls him Princess but likes the sappy ballads plus stuff like Something in the water, A Place in Heaven, etc.
