"[I] Miss You" Appreciation

I really enjoy this song. I mean REALLY enjoy it. Lyrically i's not overly impressive, but it paints a beautiful picture of the emotional connections he has to various envoronments, before professing a deep yearning to his former lover. The absolute highlight of this song for me is his voice - so vaulnerable.

It's a really nice acoustic song as well, rather complex for three guitars and a couple of overdubs. I think it's one of his best 70s compositions, right up there with Bambi. The instrumental that he recorded during the Prince sessions (Work It 2.0, Volume 1, Disc 3, Track 10 "Instrumental 4") is an interesting insight to what it may have become, but frankly, I prefer the early version.

Also, shoutout to the fan-made extended version. Despite repeating parts of the original version several times, you barely notice and it sounds like a complete song.

Surely there is some love for this track?

touched I like the song A LOT and wanted it to go on longer (besides cleaning up the tape hiss as best I could and making it sound less muffled). The instrumental parts are so beautiful that I didn't hesitate to repeat them. love
