This sounds 100% Prince to me.

Too many production similarities with WAY BACK HOME, which was ALL Josh, for it to be all Prince.

How do you know that?

Prince said he didn't play a note on 3 songs from AOA. U KNOW, WAY BACK HOME, and FUNKNROLL, sound like the obvious choices, except FUNKNROLL has P's guitar I believe. Also, Hanna tweeted that WBH was all Josh and then deleted it.

Identity

Remarkable in its mediocrity, notwithstanding the electrifying guitar licks. This is Prince on autopilot (again). I'm happy that he's still prolific, but this is lackluster, outtake-ish stuff.

Another underwhelming Prince track. It had potential but if just falls short like most of his music for over 20 years now.

Sorry, but what Prince is trying to do now, with this song, Michael Jackson did better 28 years ago with Dirty Diana.

whoever uploads a song to soundcloud has the option to make it downloadble or not. Prince never makes his songs downloadable. Free musiczilla use to be able to "Capture" songs from there, but not anymore.

Thank you!!

Interesting. Hopefully, the album will follow soon either as an exclusive to TIDAL or with WB behind the distribution.

When are you all going to understand that Mj was a funky genius that heard full chords and arrangmnts in his head and sang it to the musicians.

Let me tell you how Mj recorded.H would say:ok this is first not of second chord.h sang it,thn scond note, and taht way a full arrrangmnt. If you look for th girl is mine demo in youtube,h sang vry singl not to th musicians

And by the way thre is an interviw of th3 rock guitarrist for dirty Diana when he xplains MJ just standing next to him singing the riff like fire, til he got it right.

Prince is a musical gnius but this is not a song IMHO,this is a track.like sombody says its a bonus b sid nothing else and kinda boring.

At this ag and tim in his career you definately espect more than this.I think h should b more picky about th stuff he puts outthere cause most Prince fans ar musicians ourslves and very picky.

This track is cheap IMHO.

Listn to MJs shout, that track is pure Fire compared to this, and still MJ didnt put it on Invincible caus it was clarly a B side.

Prince still lacks that quality control filtering, same reason why MJ has 5 albums with 5 star matrial on thm and Princ has lts say15 or 20 with songs you skip most of the time.

This is constructive criticism he definately can do better than this hes a fukn musical genius

U don't have to school me on how MJ records & comes up with his songs, I already know. The problem is Mj wasn't as prolific as prince.

Of course if prince would have waited 5 years per album. Then put the best radio friendly cuts on them, he would have sold just as much if not more than Mj. But prince is NOT that type of artist. It's not about the blockbuster with him. He just records because muziq runs through him nonstop. So it's stupid to compare their muziq. Their both totally different.

Now back to the HOT new track #HARDROCKLOVER...

Oh hell yeah. That's a damn-good track. I can't understand what the fuck he's saying (besides the chorus) most of the time... but I'll repeat for no reason other than just to close this statement, it's a damn-good track.
And fuck whoever has a problem with MJ. I know opinions are opinions, but god-damn!

Adorecream

This is a good song, the combination of falsetto and guitar solos is what I like. I am also happy that albums like 20Ten, AOA and now songs like this are signs of a true Prince renaissance, it is obvious he is coming back into a fertile period of great music.

.

I will add to the chorus, album please!

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

"Dirty Diana" is a pale, odorless, for-the-masses rehash of "Darling Nikki".

MJ was very aware of what effect it would have on the tabloids, given its relationship with Diana Ross.

By now an MJ album had to be planned as a marketing product, a universal Coca-Cola-like album with a bit of everything,

just as Thriller was, which was already a rehash of the sheer beauty and diversity of Off The Wall.

If it wouldn't for Steve Stevens pyrotechnics, and Quincy Jones' way to handle the Synclavier,
no one would give a fuck about "Dirty Diana". Imagine the acapella version, and there's no melody left,
just a whiny, repetitive chorus,

with no lyrics whatsoever, unless "no-o" count as lyrics.

Of course DD has brilliant singing, but we're talkin' Michael Fucking Jackson, so what else is new?

The verses on HARDROCKLOVER are as strong as in DD, and the choruses are equally poor, except Prince is now far,
far ahead of any other guitarist in the whole pop world. Maybe even in hard rock, if he wanted to.

The originality in the guitar play is what interest me most here.
It sounds like he's back on the "let's try this" spirit of TGE era.
A very good use of the octaver, and no infinite delay à la Lovesexy,
kind of "cut the bullshit, that's just my fingers and my amp making all of this".

The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter
No Child's a failure
Until the Blue Sailboat sails him away from his dreams
Don't Ever Lose, Don't Ever Lose
Don't Ever Lose Your Dreams

the song sounds extremely cheesey to me... it's so dramatic and morose. You might compare this to something like When I Lay My Hands On You, but you wouldn't really call WILMHOY morose, would you?

.

Josh has a tendency to try to make things "cool" in the cheesiest, most cliched ways. I can't stand Way Back Home because there are too many cliched elements to list. I like U Know, but Josh's most obvious contribution, which is Hannah's "Unh, Uhhuh" that plays throughout the song, is SO terrible.
