I tried google play early on but the upload to it was achingly slow - i have my whole lifetime of music in my itunes.

That's true, but you only have to do it once. It took me about 3-4 days to upload my library back when it launched.

But it will be quicker now, because if they've already got that music in their database (scan and match) then it doesn't need to upload from your end.

Funnily enough I think Google Play Music works even better on Apple devices than Apple's own offering. Kind of like how Windows 10 runs faster on a Macbook than OSX does! lol lol Apple make great hardware, but their software is lacking more often than not.

This is something streamers will have to accept I guess. As we've seen with several artists: their catalogues can be removed from services when they -or whoever controls it -wishes to. I would be annoyed too, but I'm a buy-to-own music consumer. If I was a streamer I'm sure I would still want to buy CDs of things I really love, but then I'd feel like I'm paying twice.

Logged in this evening to Apple Music and the list of Radio stations included a "Prince Radio" station with Deftones cover art. Clicking it doesn't play anything though.

I for one am so dissapointed in Apple Music. I am upset over the PRince issue (although I own everything and then some).

Secondly the radio now sucks. I mean I used to have a 70's, 80's, 90's ect radio stations. and now there are now "decade" stations.. Which flipping sucks ass.

And then my Prince radio bloop nothing. I will cancel my service before it renews for sure. At least I have all my prince in the cloud and can stream it anytime I want.

For the Decades, I guess I'll have to try I heart radio or Pandora now :*(

But I'm definately not going to suscribe to TIDAL ever!

So - you did not pay for the Prince music? I'm asking the question, because the main reason he pulled the catalogue is money.

This is why Google Play Music is the best streaming service.

They offer you 50,000 of your own songs, to upload to your own library.

I have the entire Prince catalog on there, from my own uploads. Including stuff that's never been available on any streaming service (like the NPG albums, Goldnigga, Mazarati, etc). That's my own library, but available anywhere I am, so it can't be touched.

Also, is this enough proof that Prince is reading? lol

Chances are that this is because the remasters are coming, as stated by Pono a couple of weeks ago.

May your hunch be true but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.

iTunes Match does the same thing for $25 a year. I don't know if it's 50,000 songs, though.

Streaming music always has and will be totally lame and worthless

Sounds like shit and limits your access to real music not made by computers
Executives and plastic surgery disasters.

Your best bet is to stop using your phone for music. Fiio has lossless players
Keeps your collection offline with portable player and highest quality.

That said, prince is like the Beatles. If prince won't allow his tunes on a streaming service people notice and it affects the appeal of the service. Which is a great and powerful statement if the service is oppressive to the artist, which it is ... So go prince!

Sadly I spent a lot of my money on prince. I own most of his stuff on vinyl cassette n cd. I find it convenient 2 stream music. I subscribe 2 spotify. Cause I don't need 2 outlay specific money on items I did in my past thru spotify I've listened 2 so much new music. Which bands I have supported live. Prince is no longer an icon but a brand a sad 1 at that. Prince is far from a ripped of artist

Same. It's why I still buy CDs. I don't own all of his albums on cd, some on vinyl others on cd. It's a pain in the arse to buy them all slowly but surely, but it seems much more worth while in the long run. I just don't know why prince doesn't just re-release his old albums (especially the out of print 90s ones) on cd because it would make my life 10x easier lol. I mean, I'm not even joking I legit saw a listing on eBay for the gold experience on cd this morning for £999.99. I think they messed up the listing for crystal ball with TGE lol

Prince's music isn't on Apple Music and people are blaming Apple? They do have to get the rights to include his music. I'm not sure how legitimate the acoustic version of Love is, but there is a thread about it here:

I agree with this article in the sense that their music selections based

on my taste are spot-on. No other service has come close, although

I can't speak for TIDAL since I have no plans to signup with TIDAL.

http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-music-review-2015-7

Also, I couldn't care less that Prince's stuff isn't on streaming

services. I own all his stuff, and most of his unauthorized stuff

anyways.

Example: Prince would rather make $1,000 a year on Tidal for fewer listens than $1,000 a year on Apple Music for more listens.

.

At the end of the year, even if the paychecks were identical, his perception of what he has "gained" will be higher. But his digital/streaming exposure will have been severely compromised.

Google Play Music is 50,000 songs (regardless of length) for free. You don't have to pay anything to get the storage space. Your songs are then available on mobile devices, and anything with a web browser for that matter. Pay your £9.99 per month and you get access to their catalogue of over 30 million other songs, same as Spotify and Apple Music.
