Song you think Prince regrets writing the most

What song do you think he truly wishes he had never written (including all his protege albums and songs he wrote for other people). My vote goes to Donald Trump (Black Version). I was listening to it this weekend and I thought he probably is glad that jank is still in the vault, with the idiot he has become. Not to mention all the racist and sexiest comments the Donald seems incapable of stopping.

But it's not in the vault--it was released on The Time's Pandemonium album. Besides, Trump was already an overexposed huckster fraud riding through multiple failures by dint of nothing but hubris and a big mouth and an over-inflated ego back then--the racism might not fit what the song was going for, but the Morris Day character (including the sexism) was then, and still is, pretty close to what's suggested by rhe phrase Donald Trump (Black Version). Take away the funk and give him a lot more money (so it's not just talk), and Morris is Donald. I'm pretty sure Trump probably had a brass waterbed--maybe three. Just think of him delivering the lyrics to 'Cool." I can hear hin spelling it out.

.

Trump always was an idiot--but so was the guy in a lot of the The Time's songs. I'm just not quite sure that Trump is in on the joke like Morris was.

Jughead and Poom Poom because we all know he lurks here and probably has seen how much we hate on those two songs.

I wouldn't necessarily put 'Head' on the top of his list.

He played it for years...

But 'Sister' is probably up there on his list.

For me it's Annie Christian and Orgasm.

So hard to listen to them without cringing.

Darling Nikki. The others mentioned are likely, but Nikki is the genie he can't put back in the bottle. People want/expect to hear it.

I often have to convince myself that he must have been very isolated and socially naive. But then I have to wonder why no one at Warner Bros, or his management, or people in the band, or for God's sake anyone... to tell him that the main lyric of that song could be easily misinterpreted in a quite unfortunate manner. But maybe it was a predetermined ploy to call one thing something else with the intent to shock and create confusion and buzz. (most likely). Someone still should have stepped in and talked him out of it.

None. I think he recognises that he was in a certain place when he wrote his songs and they represent him then.

Oh right. It always struck me as an upbeat song. I thought Wasted Kisses would be more painful in that case.

Good call on Let's Have A Baby. I bet that whole Emancipation album has to be hard given what's happened. The Love We Make is the only song he plays off that album right?

As far as Donald Trump goes yes he has always be a dickhole but back in the early 90's he was seen as successful and someone that should be immulated. Now he is the Morris Day joke everyone sees it except him. Brass waterbeds? The Donald only rocks gold son!

I toro think the lyrics to Jack U Off were intentional much like Marilyn Manson and his "anti-Christ" lyrics. Shock rock will always sell.

I was thinking lyrically "Checkin' for bikinis, layin' in the sand. Rub it like a genie" ain't painful to me. Nor is music 'painful' - only if it is out of note. If we remove that sample then, this is not remotely a "painful song" at all.

"Sugar Walls" or "Nasty Girl" - think about it. There must be a Prince vocal version locked away somewhere. Imagine how you'd feel if it was you, and they got out. lol

My sugar walls
My sugar walls

Come inside

My sugar walls
My sugar walls

My sugar walls

Come spend the night inside

My sugar walls

My sugar walls
My sugar walls

That's right, I can't control it
I need 7 inches or more
Tonight I can no longer hold it
Get it up, get it up, I can't wait anymore
