normal chest voice during the Rolling Stones 1981 gig

When you listen to audio recording of Prince opening for the Stones there is not a single falsetto line.Prince is singing everything with his chest voice.setlist was Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad,Uptown,Jack You OffBambi and When U Were Mine.and not a single line was sung with falsetto. Why is that? DO YOU think Prince wanted to apear more hard rock?

I would have pelted them with fruit and assorted objects too, in that case.

A recording surfaced around 2009/2010 or so IIRC. The quality is fairly unlistenable but it's a piece of prince history. Hard to tell the whooshing of the tape from any boo-ing going on though.

Controversy era band sounds like 3rd Eye Girls???

Do you know that band is basically The Revolution minus Wendy.

Go listen to Copntrovery live in New Orleans

they were a pretty awsome tight unit

Its the (bad) recording that makes'm sound bad.

And it doesnt help when people are booing as well. biggrin

.

As for the singing..... he definitely had to toughen up the act, especially when trying to please 50,000 rednecks.

Mind you some songs like When U Were Mine, were rarely sung in falseto as it is hard to hear falseto over the music. wink
