Planet Earth... It's the worst because it's the most BLAND album... Not counting the instrumental albums... Planet Eart is the most boring Prince album, it's not even bad bad just boring bad, and for a Prince fan, a boring album is worse than a bad album.

Planet Earth

I think I've listened to both of them less then 10 times combined. So boring.

Hands down, Planet Earth. Somewhere Here on Earth almost redeems it, but even his great vocal performance on that track can't save the whole trainwreck for me.

Agree. Planet Earth is just so boring... Even "bad" albums like Rave and NPS have at least 2-3 good tracks on them. Planet Earth is just horrible, the most boring Prince album he has ever made. He never should have released that album, apart being real boring, sales wise it's in his top 3 lowest selling albums amongst NEWS and Plectrum...

Planet Earth is so BLAND... I never heard another Prince album as boring as Planet Earth... If an artist like Prince makes an album that is "boring"... that has to be his lowest low out of the albums...

Future Baby Mama, nice song, boring... But 2 b fair, Nice song.

I agree with everything except 3121... In my opinion 3121 was his most "solid" album in the last 10 years.

Planet Earth and MPLSound are two lumpy pieces of shit so shitty they made me actually appreciate NPS. Amazing.

NPS has actually grown on me lately...

Freaks On This Side

Come On

The One

Wasted Kisses

.... That's a lot of "good" tracks for a "bad" album.

So far 4 votes for Rainbow Children including mine. Say whatever you want about Planet Earth, but at least he's not preaching.

Not a great album at all, overrated by many people here as groundbreaking or w/e... Like the musicianship on this album though... At least it's not as boring as Planet Earth.

I hate the preaching on TRC. But I love the album because it's the most balls-out artistic and creative Prince has been on an album since TGE. And it was such a departure from the stale, plastic R&B/funk he had been doing at that point. Plus, it was his first album as "Prince" again. Altogether, it's too important in his catalog to be a hated album for me. Planet Earth and MPLSound, on the other hand, are like partial birth abortions set to music. Shitty music.

I agree. I don't hate TRC, I don't love it... But like I said I really appreciate the artistic and musicianship of that album, hate the preaching and religious stuff, but there are some nice songs on TRC. TRC is without a doubt better than Planet Earth.

The votes show me how we can all have very different perspectives. I consider Rainbow Children and 3121 to be amongst his very best but others do not. I do not like Batdance as a whole and I consider that to be his worst effort. I think he ruined the Symbol album and Diamonds and Pearls with a few ill advised songs and raps, but those albums were otherwise good. I also am not a big fan of 20ten, but some of you loved that one. As time passes, I am finding that some of his albums have not aged well like Emancipation. At one time, Emancipation was one of my favorite and now I only listen to Holy River and The Love We Make.

20TEN closely followed by MPLSound for me, just bland, uninspired, pedestrian and lazy with zero emotion attached to any of the songs.

3121... Don't U Wanna Come?
