It says "The exact setlist and sequence of this preshow are uncertain." right there on the page. Why do you think that is?

@Kara: Looks like you have an early copy of SAB’s 4CD "When The Lights Go Down In Australia". I seem to remember that a corrected replacement of the back inlay took the place of the faulty one pretty shortly after the set’s original release.
+
The copy I have is not only listing the dates correctly, but it also mentions those final three songs on disc 4. In the booklet it reads that the 4CD set would become available at the price of a triple … which it actually did. That decision was made by the label due to the not-so-great quality of some of the tracks included. According to their liner notes, no superior recordings from that tour "down under" had surfaced at the time. This made them go ahead with what they found on MDs, as this was the first ever all-Australian set for them to put out, and in order to "make it up to" their clients, they just dropped the price by 25 % from the start.

+

So that (in)famous "Mr. Know-it-all-better-than-anyone-else-in-the-world" Bart can sit his ass back down and start eating his words now, as YES, many of those rare 2003 songs performed in Australia have indeed been recorded … AND released on (illegal) CDs about a decade ago.

Free the music.

Oh, I don't have a physical copy. I downloaded it years after it was released. I just copied and pasted the tracklist information from the old Databank website I saved. smile

How do you get into the soundchecks?

prince

I've seen Prince in concert one time for each of his 3 tours to Sydney (1992, 2003 and 2012). I could never figure out how to get tickets to either the soundchecks or afterparties.

eye

I'm not sure if he played any aftershows in 1992.

prince

I went to these concerts;

prince

1) Diamonds And Pearls Tour. Sunday, 3 May 1992 That was the large stadium concert at the SCG (Sydney Cricket Ground)

prince

Were there soundchecks available to the public? Was there an aftershow? Please let me know. Was there one at Star City Casino (The Star)?

prince

2) Prince and the New Power Generation - World Tour 2003. Friday, 24 October 2003. At the Sydney Entertainment Centre

prince

Any soundchecks open to the public? Aftershow was at 'The Basement' I think. Anyone have details?

prince

3) Prince - Welcome 2 Australia Tour. Saturday, 12 May 2012. Acer Arena (Sydney Olympic Park)

prince

Any soundchecks open to the public? Aftershow was at the Ivy Nightclub

prince

If anyone can help me fill in the blanks please.

They did. 14 April, 1992 (am) @ Transformers, Brisbane. And 22 April, 1992 (am) The Palace, St. Kilda. The later one was released as a bootleg, but the sound quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Every soundcheck on this tour was 'open' to the NPGMC members who purchased tickets to the concerts. There was an aftershow indeed @ The Basement in Sydney, but on 26 October, 2003 (am). There were other aftershows in Melbourne [@ Bennetts Lane on 21 October, 2003 (am) and @ The Metro on 23 October, 2003 (am)] and in Fortitude Valley (Brisbane) [@ The Indie Temple on 28 October, 2003 (am)].

No open soundchecks, and a total of 4 aftershows and/OR club gigs in Sydney, West End, Albany Creek and Melbourne.

Feel free to 'investigate' yourself the details @ http://princevault.com/in.../Main_Page - the best source for all these info and much more smile

@psyche2, thanks very much for your really helpful information. That's really appreciated. I hope that another official fan club gets started. I would definately join it. I made a big mistake not joining the NPGMC all those years ago.

@callimnate, Ha, Ha. That's a very good theory. But no I have nothing to do with Prince apart from being a fan. I'm a 37 year old from Sydney with a job in Customer Service. I hope he returns here to Australia soon as well. I have visited this site a lot over the years but just never logged in to post. It's hard to believe I joined nearly 10 years ago. Time flies.
