Sign "O" the times - the movie...what would be different 30 years later?

Sign "O" the Times movie in 2015...what would be different?

Keeping it at the same time length(+/-5 min). Looking back, do you think the setlist would be different?Would it include...Adore, Strange Relationship, TBODP, maybe Starfish & Coffee or any b-sides/outtakes?

What would hit the cutting room floor now? Slow Love, U got the look(yes, please), LRC, Hot Thing, Now's the Time, The Cross

I have no complaints about the moive as is. But...I do think Slow Love and U got the look would be edited out, maybe a shorter Forever in my life. Making room for Adore, Stange Relationship and maybe even Rebirth of the flesh.

What's your opinion?

The movie is stunning all the way through: heart

would have been great if some songs from the 87 tour was added back then like Girls & Boys and Kiss.

and maybe Adore at the end, very strange Adore wasn't included (I'm not sure Adore was played on the tour though - can't remember.)

"U Got The Look" was the biggest hit single from that album. It would be foolish to remove it from the film.

I would love to see what Shockadelica live would've been like! That coupled with Housequake would've been killer!

Honestly would've loved to have the Camille album merged in with the film...

U Got the Look is the only song on the album that wasn't "live"

.

I put "live" in quotes because the whole film was lip synced, though every other song was lip synced to live tracks.

.

I have never liked that U Got the Look was lip synced to the studio track and not performed "live" like the rest of the film. Fix that, and it's 100% perfect instead of 99.9% perfect in my book.

Still hate the part in Play in The Sunshine " Hey Cat can I take you out later?" W T F?

U got the Look still terrible 30 years later.

Swap Adore for Slow Love.

Wish LRC was full length or that he would have done the piano medley he does during the LoveSexy tour.

Strange relationship definitely should have been on the film. That's the only thing that bugs me is that Strange Relationship isn't on there. I could live without "It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night" being on there... I mean Prince was awesome on drums but I didn't like the tempo so much, I like tempo on the album version better. So when I first saw it on the film I thought something was wrong with my VCR lol it felt a little awkward me
The version of Strange relationship that should've been on there was an outtake (rehearsal for SOTT). that version should've been used in the film and if it had it would have been great and SOTT would have been the best thing in the universe. But because it wasn't it was just a pretty wonderful, astronomically-biblical film...

Other than that, for me it's an amazing concert-film!!!

Initially, there had been plans to include the full concert which featured many other non-Sign o' the Times songs (including "Kiss", "1999", "Purple Rain", "When Doves Cry", "Girls & Boys" and "Let's Go Crazy") but these songs were eventually dropped.

There are clips for all six of these songs.

Not that I'm aware. Which I find hard to believe as the SOTT Movie outtakes are.

Those additional songs were shot at the Rottersam concert, but I don't think they were dome at the PP re-shoot.

I don't believe they were dropped because of quality. Still rather interesting no fan has seen them.

Adore and Strange Relationship weren't played at the tour, so they can't be in the film.

I'm wondering if there were other shows from the tour that were filmed?Remember,Prince records everything.Since the movie is released on Dvd in other countries,it would be real nice if the movie could get a domestic release with extra songs and other bonus features!Prince's tightest band ever along with John Blackwell and Rhonda Smith later on!

The visuals are great, but this is NOT a concert movies, rather a music video.

What a great disappointment it was, seeing it in the movie theatre and finding out it was NOT a concert, but rather studiotakes at Paisley Park.

Would love to see the originals from Rotterdan and Antwerp surface somehow some day.

It truly is a crime that "U got the look" was the biggest single from that album. His most ordinary song ever and dumb America swallowed it.

I'd take out all of the goofy segues and acting parts and just show the show. Also, I'd make it actually "live" like "Stop Making Sense" and maybe throw in some backstage or soundcheck footage. Maybe some interviews with the concert goers and band members and more reaction shots from the crowd.

There's nothing wrong with "U Got The Look".That's a perfect 80s pop single.I can see why it became such a big hit.

I love the SOTT film, but it's strange how so much of the 'real' concert footage couldn't be used in the film confuse did Prince hire an incompetent film crew?

Was this ever on BluRay? I have the Canadian DVD from about 10 years ago, and to my eyes/ears it is damn near perfect.
