TIDAL Teams With Prince To Live Stream Audio From "Rally 4 Peace" Baltimore Benefit Concert

TIDAL Teams With Prince To Live Stream Audio From "Rally 4 Peace" Baltimore Benefit Concert COMMITS TO MATCHING CHARITABLE DONATIONS FROM FANS AND SUPPORTERS

.

http://www.prnewswire.com..._cleartime

.

NEW YORK, May 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today TIDAL announced, on Sunday, May 10, 2015, it will live stream audio from Prince & 3RDEYEGIRL's Mother's Day Rally 4 Peace benefit concert, pre-pay wall, during its TIDAL X: Baltimore event. TIDAL will be the exclusive destination to hear this historic live concert. Following a month of unrest, the Rally 4 Peace is meant to be a catalyst for pause and reflection following the outpouring of violence that has gripped Baltimore and areas throughout the US. Details surfaced last week about a protest song titled "Baltimore" Prince recently recorded in response to the civil unrest. The song was written following the death of 25-year old Freddie Gray and is a tribute to all of the people of Baltimore.

.

The live stream will provide an opportunity for all people globally to experience the music and participate in a cultural moment that can inspire, motivate and provoke changes in our current climate. TIDAL's work to build a creative artist space made it appealing to the global superstar who has always supported a visionary approach.

.

"TIDAL has the ability to create experiences that bring people together," said Vania Schlogel, Senior Executive for TIDAL. "We are privileged to partner with Prince so that people everywhere can share in this moment for healing and unity to support Baltimore youth through the power of music. Our dream is to be able to provide a limitless platform for all artists."

.

"I am honored to join Prince in his mission to inspire through the uniting power of music and be able to offer a platform where this moment can be shared globally. We invite all to experience the music and contribute in their own way to promote peace, tolerance and understanding," added JAY Z. "Our prayers go out to Freddie Gray's family and every family affected by brutality and senseless violence."

.

Fans and supporters can listen to TIDAL X: Baltimore by going to www.TIDAL.com. Alongside the free 60min audio stream, TIDAL's homepage will feature a "match funds" donation button to support local Baltimore youth charities. TIDAL is also providing the opportunity to support and donate to The Baltimore Justice Fund, whose mission it is to end racial discrimination, create schools that are welcoming and safe, reduce the impact of drug addiction and eliminate police brutality in Baltimore.

.

All can donate at www.osi-baltimore.org.

Tickets for Sunday's show at Royal Farms Arena went on sale Wednesday. A portion of all proceeds will benefit Baltimore youth charities. As a symbolic message of shared humanity and love for one another, concertgoers are invited to wear something gray to the family-friendly Mother's Day event.

.

*UPDATED*

.

TIDAL X Baltimore

TIDAL is proud to announce TIDAL X Baltimore.

Tune into TIDAL at 8 p.m. E.T. on Sunday, May 10, 2015, for a live audio broadcast of Prince & 3RDEYEGIRL’s Mother’s Day Rally 4 Peace benefit concert.

TIDAL will be the exclusive destination to hear this historic live concert — available to subscribers and non-subscribers alike.

This is great news and very cool that the live steam is FREE.

However, we all know P is going to play longer then 1 hour so are they just going to cut the live stream at 1 hour? Why not make it a 2 hour stream?

Also what about all the guest stars that were suppose to be joining him? Guess the "with special guest Third Eye Girl" is all we will be getting

Stop complaining and wait and see what is going to happen and no you will not get to see a whole prince concert free. I am sure life will go on.

I was thinking the 1 hour stream will be all peace songs especially chosen for the purpose already mentioned for the concert. The rest of the concert that isn't streamed Prince will play his hits.

They also match it on the other link provided in the article, because I received a confirmation email telling me they matched my donation. It's up to anyone if they want to donate during the tidal stream or now at the other link noted in the article for Baltimore. smile

Perhaps they'll switch to live stream an hour into the concert so we witness the last hour...

I think it's pretty cool they decided on doing the live stream, makes a lot of sense to "get the word out" when you got something to say.

And hey...what a great jump start this will be for the next Hit N Run tour concerts razz

What is `tidal`?

I know the word from what the sun and moon do to the h2o on this planet.

But this?

.

And what is a `live stream`?

.

I guess I should wait for the bootleg.

Good point and I totally agree! Maybe this is where P will play the peace song requests from fans that @PurpleEssence asked for on Twitter yesterday...now that would be cool!

Very excited and hope this is a huge success for everyone involved! Cheers to PEACE!

And what if he doesn't play his own "peace" songs, what if there's one or two covers of well known "peace' songs... wink

I'm hoping he'll play the same songs he did this past Saturday at Paisley Park and then some. I would love to get a copy of that!

I updated the original post with a link to the info page on Tidal.

"Tune into TIDAL at 8 p.m. E.T. on Sunday, May 10, 2015, for a live audio broadcast of Prince & 3RDEYEGIRL’s Mother’s Day Rally 4 Peace benefit concert."

So the live stream will start at the beginning of the concert...if Prince is on time razz
