Possessed rhythm guitar

The rhythm guitar breakdown at the end of Possessed is one of the greatest recorded guitar moments in Prince's career. It the funkier guitar version of the 1999 synths. I find myself playing it over and over. It's a crime that it wasn't released. Could you imagined if 1999 ended with this track as a bookend to the title song instead of International Lover?

It was recorded wayyyy after 1999 came out, but agreed that the rhythm guitar lines on it rule.

You're right. Looks like it was recorded in 1983. I wonder if it was going to be used to as a segue to 1999 in live shows? Then he re-recorded the more James Brown influenced version for the Purple Rain tour.

Dilan, I agree International Lover is a great song.
