We all forget the Jevetta Steele version which is more laid back and actually the best version.

Funny, I'm just on the verge of chucking this in the trash... there's something I like about it... the vocals are okay, and the guitar is nice, but I guess it's a little twee for my taste... and that dumb-ass, generic, oh-so-dated 90s beat is just hideous.

Yes, thank you Prince, I'm aware of where the beat is, you don't have to keep kicking me in the crotch with it.... hmm, I think I'm going to ditch it now.

lol

It's so 90's lololol - the loop does become obnoxious but the guitar keeps me coming back!

Javetta had a version?

Only heard Mayte and Princes.

I love the scorching guitar solo and would hope her version is the same. Laid back? No jam like this shoukd be laid back

I agree about the Jevetta Steele version.

Suppose its like a typical 90's RnB track but I've always liked it. There's a bit of guitar but not 'scorching' like Prince's version, which is quite a different take on it.

Pentacle

It's fantastic!

Please don't mention the Jevetta version in the same breath. That could have gone straight onto Judith Hill's new album.
