1994 all over again? (My theory on what's happening with PR Remaster) I honestly have a little theory about the PR Remaster. What I mean is, I think Prince gave WB the PR remaster and they didn't like it because it didn't include the unreleased material. So they were probably like "Hey, you need to get the bonus material in it!" And I think Prince felt like since WB isn't happy with what he gave them, then he did what he did with the Come album... I think he took like a song out and replaced it with one of the unreleased material and sent it back to WB. (For example: he took out "The Beautiful Ones" and put in "Electric Intercourse") They didn't like it because even if he put in an unreleased song, they still want the original album, then the bonus material) then WB sent it back and Prince did the same exact thing with another song.. Then back and forth, back and forth and eventually they'll have to release it and when they do it will just be 9 unreleased PR era-songs lol... A concur with your 1994 theory but in lieu of giving the purple rain remaster he gave them artificial age this the pictures of the purple rain records in the art work. Hmmmmm? Ah what do I know lol! |

Folks need to stop stressin over the PR Remaster, it's not gonna happen, and if it does, it will be just like the original album, but with better sound, which is the definition of a remaster.
I haven't thought about the PR remaster in months, and ya know what? I sleep great at night. The worst case scenario is it doesn not happen, no sweat off my sac cause I'm not thinkin about it, the best case scenario it does happen, and I am pleasently surprised.
Honestly though, a 40th anniversary remaster is most likely what will happen, or perhaps a 50th.

That was in 2010 when Prince said that to them and when they did the podcast for it. But Wow, PretzalBodyLogic, WhiteCaps, FixUrLifeUp, AnotherLove, TicTacToe (one of my personal favs), Marz and FunkNRoll at pretty good songs. It's not THAT bad, is it? 1984 was the master... which appeared on LP... why beg for a remaster? Craving for the bonus tracks and unreleased material is your obsessiviness? I hope Prince will never released a remaster... what was done in the past... stays in the past... it's old shit. PR in 1984 was perfect... leave it alone and instead release the unreleased those masterpeices from the vault... Your choice with the list takes from here _______. and go fuck yourselves! | |

Could be. My theory for what it's worth is that Prince either isn't delivering anything AT ALL or is being picky on every possible aspect of the project in order to delay it forever, all this in the sole purpose of driving WB so mad that they'll decide he's truly impossible to work with and tell him "we cancel the whole goddamn contract, u can go to hell with ur bloody masters and put 'em in your ass for all we care!". Prince got the rights to the masters but he still has a contractual obligation to rerelease them through WB and my feeling is that he still sees this as a lighter form of "slavery" and then, yeah, it's indeed 1994 again.
