You can tell he was trying for the "Sign O' the Times" vibe. But he just looks like Linda Richman.

Isn't this from the NPGMC era, rather? The Rave album project was already dead when he cut his long hair shorter.

It's from an in-studio scene from the Rave dvd. He was playing something that sounded like Gamillah if I'm remembering correctly.

Oh, okay. I forgot what he looked like during that show. I just thought it might have been from the same time period when he changed his name back to Prince, which was the beginning of the NPGMC / TRC era to me. I think he wore similar similar tinted glasses during the press conference.

the 1998-2001 period can be tricky

as wells as the ONA/Rainbow Children Musicology Planet Earth periods can easily throw someone off

the Diamonds & Pearls LoveSymbol & Come eras can be tricky too

Really I am thinking more Controversy to early 1982 era myself, the hair gives it away and the pants are like the one in the 1981 programme. Otherwise I could be wrong again, and its from the Parade to Dream Factory era.

I've vocalized my dislike of certain Parade era styles before, but this is great. What I didn't like was when it was TOO short and COMPLETELY slicked back... he looked weird and a little geeky-looking.. But when it grew to this pic's length/Anotherloverholenyohead video/ etc... it looked fantastic.
