I might get crucified for this, but I actually like the banana trousers/red-and-blue shirt from 1989 It just looks so damn funny and cute. He looks like your-somewhat-cool-young-uncle-who-visits-for-family-barbeques. That picture, you end up showing off in 2009 when you find that old box of family photos in the attic. Uncle Prince, slightly overweight and balding (he was never a superstar so the hair treatments went out the window) laughs.

Some of the pics posted (including mine) are purposely camp/freaky. I guess there's a difference between that and a bad picture... oh well, most of these suck still.

Actually that was from October 1984, when he was hitting big with Purple Rain - The article was "Prince scores!, A hit album and a hit movie". The 1985 issue with the Prince Talks - an interview by Neal Karlen had an image of Prince from a still of the Raspberry Beret video, which was also quite bad, he looks grainy in it.

I actually like these pics. The first one was just weird though (in a 'succeeding in looking like Michael Jackson' way)

LOL at Prince wearing an abaya.. with a matching head scarf, hoop earrings, and a bracelet too

That third pic would be cool if he took off those steel square glasses... this is another one of those times in the SOTT era (like in the 'UGTL' video) where he wears the glasses and then stares intensely ahead at the screen
